miltary spec. Amiga 2000 jokes ?

Hi all.
From time to time I allways see on some amiga forums (mainly english) that mil spec A2000 jokes , what was that all about? What I've missed all those years?

For what I've read was a quite old joke about some guy claiming having a military spec A2000 perhaps (well at least I understand that if true this is quite a LOL claim ) , perhaps it happened on an ancient epic lol thread somewhere ?

Perhaps he was like an Spanish amiga guy who considered himself very clever, this guy claimed once on IRC that the tube on his TV set drained about "15.000 amperes of power" (obviously confusing the volts of a LOPT flyback of a TV with amperes), and what was worse, admiting no discussion about his obvious error, calling all other people ignorants and such...

The overall ROTFL that came after the claim (imagine all the people asking him things like if he have a nuclear power plant at home for powering that TV and so on) was so epic that this claim became a sort of an Amiga related meme for years on spanish Amiga related sites.

This was about ten years ago and even today the "15.000 amperes TV" joke still come from time to time

According to legend the 2000 has military specification components and build quality. I don't doubt it really as they are extremely well built. Puts a lot of shame even on newly manufactured PCs.

Some people out there though take it to the extremes. Certain names (or one man) begin with the letter D.

Well they are built like tanks that's for sure, but going from this to state that it was military spec... For instance, I doubt that an A2000 will survive an EMP strike.

But who knows, perhaps someone will come and say "hey, mind that they have found a working like new Amiga 2000 under the debris of the Fukushima's nuclear power plant!" or something alike.

Anyway, there is no epic lol thread. Most of it all happened at amiga.org where he has been permabanned and any mention of him gets deleted.

Occasionally he would log on and ask for advice regarding his "high-quality, military-spec A2000". In his opinion all other amiga models are worthless junk, especially the a600 and a1200.
Also he "always washed my hands before using this computer" (he actually put that in his ebay descriptions) :rofl3

I could go on but I wont. I'll finish by saying that he is most likely the reason for the following policy stated in this sites FAQs:
