Closed Mod-chipped GameCube (or GC dvd-drive)

I attempted to solder the xeno chip to the dvd drive of my gamecube but it didnt work as i messed it up. Upon removing it i broke one of the solder pads on the drive. Drive still works fine but there is no way of putting the modchip on anymore.

I am looking either for a modchipped console only (no psu etc..) OR a modchipped gamecube dvd drive to install in mine.

Could you not follow the trace from the broken pad and solder using wire further down?

I could but to be honest my soldering skills are not that good. I already ruined the mod chip and threw it away. I would just like a ready modded optical drive to replace mine or else a modded console only.

Reason I want the mod is mainly because I don't have the Startup disc for my Gameboy player and Nintendo don't sell them anymore and the few on eBay are a ripoff.

I have a SDMedia Launcher and I tried to run a GCM version of it using Swiss but it keeps giving errors because apparently you need to run it of cd. I can't burn a cd because my GameCube is very particular about burned discs.

from a pal gamecube..

its just the pcb..
that any good to you?

(i was going to cut it up and make it a wiiki fusion - gc adapter)
but if it would work for you let me know..

Mmmm well i threw my modchip in the rubbish as i ruined it with the heat but if i buy another xeno i will check that out

Thanks but seems like a lot of work. I'd rather find a ready modded gamecube or else at least an already modded gamecube disc drive.

i now have a full dvd gc player "pal"
it dosent have a mod chip installed (i dont have any for the gc)
