Hi all

What would a good way to keep this rig cool for long hours with high spec games with case closed and not have to worry about heat
My Specs Are Below

Processor - Intel i7 4790k (4.00GHZ)
Ram - 16gb DDR3 (2x Corsair CML16GX3M2C1600C9 8gb) (room for two sticks)
Graphics - Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 (4 Ghz)
PSU - 750W

Need more info - Just ask

Hi,

the stock coolers are usually noisey when the fan kicks upto high speed, i've recenty changed to a water cooler system (set me back around 90 quid) but the computer is quiet as a mouse now :D

regards

Jason

+1 for a water cooler. I use the Corsair H100I, but the H70 was very good too. They use 120mm fans so are nice and quite with good airflow through the radiator.

There's lots of options, really depends on how much room you have to work with. I personally have had really good luck with Zalman's air coolers, for your application the Zalman CNPS9900MAX would be a good fit. Closed-loop Asetek-style water coolers work pretty well but be wary of pump failure, you don't hear the pump on most of those coolers at the best of times, so it can be hard to notice when it fails until your CPU is doing 100°C for no reason :)

I'm using the same CPU for VR and I have moved over to Water cooling with a Corsair H80i.

No issues.
