Modifying PC Floppy Drive for Amiga Use

I have fixed a couple of Panasonic drives by replacing the two electrolytic caps on them. One of the two (the one under the eject button) starts to leak which causes the drive to stop writing properly (anything written cannot be read properly, even by itself). I have not seen aluminium electrolytic caps on my Chinon drives.
 
F: Solder a wire from the pad marked HD2 to the pad at the top left which happens to be a convenient ground. (Bypasses the HD detect switch so all disks are treated as DD - thus no need for tape over the HD holes.)
I know, it's been years since this thread was published, but now I'm trying to follow this recipe and... is the other end of HD2 wire in the picture (that "F" in top left corner) actualy something different than GND? The multimeter shows ~940R between that "F" and actual GND.
