I bought a zipstick off the other bay last year, it arrived in a large envelope.. it didnt work to well when it got to me, but it was still in one piece.

Wow! Those are hilarious! I've sometimes had to use whatever box is to hand, but never so much too large that a bit of foam and paper hasn't filled in the blanks. And I think now that I shouldn't worry too much - now I know what people really mean by bad packaging!

i received on saturday a micro sd card from sony, it arrived in the worlds biggest jiffy bag (i could actually get it on my head) that was itself inside another bag. All for a micro sd card the size of my little finger nail

One of the worst for me was a CRT monitor wrapped in paper... The driver was actually using the attached speakers as handles (which ended up breaking!).

I once received an A4000 like this. :o :o

Shocking thing was: it worked! Except for the Merlin card, but that was advertised as broken...

Please don't say that you bought that from someone on here. :picard
That is awful.

Nah, it was even before Amibay existed (august 2007). Bought it off Evilbay from someone in the Netherlands, so I think it survived because it didn't travel too far...

I don't think I left that guy positive feedback :)

Anyone sending an Amiga like this, should be banned everywhere.
No excuses, no jury, straight to oblivion.

I once recvied a keyboard in a small cardboard box with tape around it with holes on the side.
It had survived, but that packing could have been a lot better.

And to name a few people who actually do it right, and I'm not joking, these use seriously well packaging and that is how it should be done :)

- Jon Hare, recieved many things, last one was Cyberstorm MK I scsi kit, in ESD bag's and foam and also original box in slight larger box, almost indestructible :)
- LTAC, same as above, boxes are as said indestructible, I once took out the AMD scsi chip, taped the box up again, and I did stand on it with both feet and I'm about 95 kg's :)
- Sleepy_man, also indestructible and always nicely packed, have recieved many items and it always seems to amaze me how much work I have to do before the box is open :)

I think I've seen worst! An atari 1040ST shipped in a padded envelope! Came destroyed beyond belief. Lol

Good inspiration in this thread, as I'm about to pack up an A4000

@AmiNeo

To deliver safely an A4000? Mmmmm

I have the solution

Cover your a4000 with around a ton of bubble wrap and then enter it in this box

"a bit expensive", but shipping will be absolutely secure

Nothing is 100% fail safe, anyone remeber JiggyMF's 4000T to Amigaman2000, van crashed even before it was on an airplane to Spain.

If you are sending Amiga's they should be in at least big, though boxes with lots of foam around it.
However, I think I would use a sturdy plastic box.

Well at least some of you had boxes! I am now forced to ask every ebay seller to pack stuff in a solid box with plenty of internal protection. I go on to say that jiffy bags offer no protection at all (no matter how they kick off saying jiffy bags are perfect because I reckon they should be banned lol)

Only had two sellers get funny over it and then proceed to send something out with hardly any protection. Had something heavy wrapped in a plastic bin liner, taped around it etc. It was a shuttle pc and you can guess what happend to it! Very unhappy and got accused of lying, even the courier tried it on lol.
