I've recently bought an ACA 1230 card @ 42Mhz with 64 MB of Ram.

I have an A1200 with a 1d1 revision motherboard that has not had any timing fixes done.

I have read that timing fixed need to be done for this accelerator, is that right?

If so I will get the timing fixes done, what other problems could I encounter.

Stu

I think the need for timing fixes only applies to rev 1.D.4 and 2.B A1200 motherboards, and not yours.

fantastic, if thats the case I'll be looking for another rev 1d1 motherboard as a spare :p

To be honest this revision board does seem the most stable board I've ever had, all games work well and workbench seems quicker, no crashes or lock ups either lol

Can't wait for my ACA as workbench has run out of memory lol

Timing fixes can apply to any board, C= and AT used a mixture of parts and revisions on all their boards, it's almost luck of the draw!

If you get freezing/lockups or graphical glitches then I suggest you have them done, here is a link to what is involved:

FWIW my ACA1230 worked fine on a 1D1 board which was a little glitchy with 060's (go figure!) Except FastATA and PCMCIA didn't work with the ACA installed :coffee:

It worked flawlessly on my 2B and 1D4 Board although my 1D4 has the Eyetech fixes applied at the factory.

I guess everyone's experience therefore is different.

Good luck

Steve.

I have 3 1200 (1 2b and 2 1d4) and the aca1230 works perfectly on my 2b board.

My 2b board is my preferred mobo and i had this one re-capped :)
