I have built for myself to enjoy the MT32 and soundfont based General MIDI emulation the MT-32 Pi Hat for Raspberry Pi 3A/B or 4 designed by Chrissy.
Have few more which I can sell each for 32 € + shipping. Paypal gift or buyer pays fees or SEPA Banktransfer

update: I can now also offer alternative MT-32 HAT (Clumsy by Andreas Z) which has MIDI In/Out ports and MIDI thru header for 34 €.

I’m looking for an mt32 / soundfont pi hat like yours but i want it for 2 things

1:- misterfpga
2:- connect my roland midi keyboard

Does yours do both or have the option for both with the usb port and switch?

For miSTer there is a special (simplified) version which comes with 2 usb ports and switch.
I could make some of these later if there is some interest.

Edit: MT32-Hat for Stefan-AT sent today.

This one is pure MIDI connections; no option to connect a mister and get audio returned. (I built a few of these myself)

Dont think I've seen a hat that does both (but its been a while since I looked, someone may have come up with one)

Both would be cool as an mt32/midi for mister via the serial usb cable and as a standalone midi module for real hardware like pc / st / midi keyboard etc

Declaring interest.

Hi,
I suppose it would not be possible to mix input and output in this one? It just has the one stereo output? So mixing would have to take place externally? Is there a nice way of doing this that does not involve a mixer or such? What do people normally do?

You need a separate mixer. This hat can only take a MIDI input and output audio

Recieved and tested! This thing works a LOT better then I expected and the output from that tiny amplifier is great! It sounds fantastic! And it's so EASY to use, and flexible. Damn, I might just sell my MT32 and SC-88.

Hope you still have one available! :) Thanks @a.mi.goun

Edit: Just reserved a RPi 3A+ to be my new MT32-Pi :giggle:
