Contact me again in 15 years or so...
Be warned, I might!

So are you surviving the Canadian winter?
This year I find pretty harsh.
Temperatures are all over the place which makes it harder to get accustomed to the cold (some days it's -10, the next it's -2, and the next ones are -26°C)
I miss winters where we had regular -20 to -25°C for weeks, at the end of winter we didn't even notice the cold anymore.

This is going to sound whiny, but this year the grass (most of it anyway) turned brown. Harsh winter (for us).

After growing up in Colorado, I made like a snow bird without a return ticket, and headed south. No regrets. :)

No regrets.
I think I would miss the cooler weather if I moved south. I'm not that fond of winter, but spring and fall I really appreciate.

You're thinking of Louisiana or Texas, in Tennessee we get the four seasons here, just a milder version of them. The summer isn't too hot (95 - 100 is about the max, and only for two weeks). Spring is glorious with the Dogwood and Bartlett pear trees blooming. And fall is mild as well. I worked down here from '89 to '92 before moving to Louisiana, and all I could think about was moving back. Of course, part of that was because I was in Louisiana. ;>

I do miss the bayous, food, and (sometimes) the insane Cajuns down in Louisiana.

soviet conscript occasionally found a Diamond Sonic Pro, which is seemingly a 512K ARIA card. You might want to contact him to see if he's willing to sell. Note that it's unclear if there are drivers fitting the card, and without drivers it might not work.

I was wondering who scouped that up.

If you're looking for rare stuff, keep an eye out for the FTL Sound Adapter that came with Dungeon Master:

http://www.mocagh.org/loadpage.php?getgame=dm

I happened to buy this game with the adapter many years ago. It's a really, really nice piece.

I've been told that it should work the same as a Covox but may sound different depending on the resisters used. I'd love to hear a comparison some time. Maybe we can do a jam session sometime; you with your Covox and me with my FTL.

An ordinary Covox Speech Thing or clone will not work with Dungeon Master unless you find a way to hack the executable to bypass the autodetection. Dungeon Master supports the FTL Sound Adapter and the Disney Sound Source. Both devices can be automatically detected, Covox Speech Things cannot.

Yes I wrote in his thread. Very nice card!

Good to know. I wonder if piggybacking a DSS with a Speech Thing would pass the detection.

I was pretty lucky recently.

Found a Gravis Ultrasound MAX
and a Pro Audio Spectrum 16 in box
and finally a Prometheus ARIA sound card.

The list is getting shorter and shorter.

List updated!
Found an original 1987 AdLib with its box and documentation recently.
Sadly no floppies, but I'll live easily without :)
