My A4000 doesn't like my A3640 :-(

I'm not sure if all this is a red herring :unsure: The acid should already have been neutralised, though I will tidy up the PCB a bit more when I replace the caps.

The clock chip is seen and I can save the time in the time prefs. The possible broken trace does not seem to affect the system with the 030 in it, so maybe it's connected to one of the unpoopulated SIMM sockets.

I've gone over every pin of U177 with a DVM and checked the readings against those in the RTC repair guide, they all check out.

If the acid had been neturilised you would`1t have all that green gunk around
Its probably worked its way under some chips too

Read your post about your attemps to get the A3640 running in your A4000.
Did you succeed finally?
I have the same problem as you describe, 3630 works fine, A3640 gives me a scala of colors.
Would appreciate if you let me know if (and how) you fixed it.
