Hi All
I have built myself another Amiga 500 Plus computer!
Stage 1: I Did all Diodes and Transistors.
Stage 2: I did all Resistor Networks.
Stage 3: I did all Ceramic Capacitors Axial and Radial type.
Stage 4: I did All EMI Capacitors (Blue ones)
Stage 5: I did all resistors.
I did notice that I have put 2 x Ceramic Capacitor in where resistor should have been, so I corrected that mistake.
Stage 6: I did all Electrolytic Capacitors.
Stage 7: I did all Ports and Battery Socket.
Stage 8: I added all the Sockets and pin headers.
Stage 9: I Added all chips.
Now here is time to test Amiga out.
Here is problems I have had.
1st power on, power light came on but stayed dim, First I switch Amiga off and double checked all chips are in. there where in apart from two of them I put in wrong away round and they got hot and I think I damaged them, U11 and U13 (74LS373)
So I ordered new ones of them and had to wait for them to arrived but once they arrived and install right way this time still no luck in booting into kickstart 2.0 just yellow screen and reboot all time.
so I check all sockets and found that the small chips didn't seem to fit in sockets correctly and seem bit lose, so I decided to DE-solider all small chip sockets and solider chips direct to the motherboard. this stop the yellow screen but no boot on kickstart 2.0 Rom (just go to white screen then reboot all the time.
so I put DiagRom in and she fired up and ran all test all works fine. but no boot on kickstart 2.0 Rom (just go to white screen then reboot all the time.
so i did more checks with voltages and checking chips too see if any getting too hot or staying cold.
the only chip was cold was Gary so i order another one of them, once it came still no boot with kickstart 2.0 (not the kickstart Rom you see in photo it's a original kick 2.0 Rom)
so After a while i thought to burn myself kickstart 1.3 Rom to see if that did anything. Yes it fired up and displayed the hand with workbench disk logo.
Amiga works but under 1.3 but not 2.0 with original Rom (I thought must but damage 2.0 Rom Chip)
I burnt myself kickstart 2.0 Rom and it boots.
Yippee So i did lots of test now the Amiga is alive!
I bought 1 Mb chip ram upgrade To make Amiga 2Mb chip!
Keyboard fully working !
RGB Fully working And so do MONO video output to!
Clock works and battey too and keeps the correct time!
Both CIA's are working with no issues!
Parallel port working with loop Adapter! and LED on adapter +5V line Lights up!
Serial works fine with adapter too! and both +12v and -12V lights on adapter are light up too!
Floppy Drives work 100% no issues Been lubed up too to keep it running smoothly!
Games Work fine too no issues there!
Then installed another adapter Zorro II to Amiga 500 Adapter I had to solider this kit too! she works fine no issues here!
