Hi All
I have built myself another Amiga 500 Plus computer!
20240713_092932.jpg

Stage 1: I Did all Diodes and Transistors.
20240713_100329.jpg
Stage 2: I did all Resistor Networks.

20240713_164858.jpg

Stage 3: I did all Ceramic Capacitors Axial and Radial type.

20240714_093025.jpg

Stage 4: I did All EMI Capacitors (Blue ones)

20240714_150732.jpg

Stage 5: I did all resistors.
I did notice that I have put 2 x Ceramic Capacitor in where resistor should have been, so I corrected that mistake.

20240714_163120.jpg

Stage 6: I did all Electrolytic Capacitors.

20240714_174816.jpg

Stage 7: I did all Ports and Battery Socket.

20240714_194809.jpg

Stage 8: I added all the Sockets and pin headers.

20240714_202202.jpg

Stage 9: I Added all chips.

Now here is time to test Amiga out.
Here is problems I have had.
1st power on, power light came on but stayed dim, First I switch Amiga off and double checked all chips are in. there where in apart from two of them I put in wrong away round and they got hot and I think I damaged them, U11 and U13 (74LS373)
So I ordered new ones of them and had to wait for them to arrived but once they arrived and install right way this time still no luck in booting into kickstart 2.0 just yellow screen and reboot all time.

so I check all sockets and found that the small chips didn't seem to fit in sockets correctly and seem bit lose, so I decided to DE-solider all small chip sockets and solider chips direct to the motherboard. this stop the yellow screen but no boot on kickstart 2.0 Rom (just go to white screen then reboot all the time.

so I put DiagRom in and she fired up and ran all test all works fine. but no boot on kickstart 2.0 Rom (just go to white screen then reboot all the time.
so i did more checks with voltages and checking chips too see if any getting too hot or staying cold.
the only chip was cold was Gary so i order another one of them, once it came still no boot with kickstart 2.0 (not the kickstart Rom you see in photo it's a original kick 2.0 Rom)

so After a while i thought to burn myself kickstart 1.3 Rom to see if that did anything. Yes it fired up and displayed the hand with workbench disk logo.

Amiga works but under 1.3 but not 2.0 with original Rom (I thought must but damage 2.0 Rom Chip)
I burnt myself kickstart 2.0 Rom and it boots.

Great photo diary of your build!
Happy to see another Amiga 500+ coming back to life!

That mainboard is clearly derived from my Raemixx500 project, where someone took it, removed all the improvements and made it more similar to the original, by adding the C=A500+ logo, etc.

That would be perfectly fine IF ONLY all the modified source files had been available and the original credits hadn't been removed. As it stands, it is breaching the license of my original work. I bet they are also not giving a **** about the charity donation clause either.

I know there are for sale on eBay, but I strongly recommend to avoid supporting the losers who did this (who are not giving YOU, the community, the source files that they MUST give you) and thus NOT to buy it.

If you want an A500+ mainboard, there's someone selling them right here: you'll get a better one at the right price.
