Hello everyone!

I’d like to start out by saying that when I first bought this Amiga on a local buy and sell app, I didn’t expect to go as far as I did with my project. (It’s not that you can go real far with an Amiga 500 in the first place but still...)

Anyways it started out as I bought a monitor and and just the Amiga 500 with nothing else except a busted tank mouse. I had to source a power supply, a joystick, a modulator, some software and various cables. Initially it had a hard time booting up, I don’t know why but it eventually booted. I forgot to mention that there was an aftermarket ram expansion which had a coin style battery in it.

I started getting software onto some floppies and was wondering why most games would crash or run super fast( I had an NTSC machine but was running PAL software).

The first mod I did was I replaced the fat angus chip and did the pin 41 mod to turn it back into a PAL setup. And all the software was running great.

Soon after I put in an ECS Denise chip in there for the heck of it. I found someone selling a bunch of chips so at the same time I got a v2.04 kickstart rom but wasted my time with that because I went and bought v3.1 and found a kickstart switcher. My original plan was to have the kickstart switcher with 1.3 and 3.1 in it so I could eventually run some sort of hard drive or CF card setup.

After all was said and done I ended up adding an ACA500+ to my setup then I went and added some colour to it all.

While I was at it I made my own joysticks and also added a wireless mouse adaptor.

Now I’m working on getting new keys made for the keyboard. I have a friend who has his own custom 3D printer and he is gracious enough to be developing a new set of keys for the Amiga.
I’ll post pics as I get them of the keyboard.

I eventually went and swapped out the motherboard from an NTSC rev 5 to a PAL rev 6a which allowed me to add the ACA500+ and while I was at it I bought the replacement case and painted it because the original case was in real bad shape..

Thanks for reading [emoji4]

Be careful what you say, vampires are lurking

yes I was thinking that after I wrote it. but then I thought well I’m on a budget and that isn’t something I could afford at the time. Next time I’ll choose my words better [emoji4]

I did get a lot of help from the fellow Amiga users here. And for that I say thank you greatly!
