Great Marios! RESPECT!

And what did you do with the old VGA output-space on the case, since you made a new one? Have you used this space for something else?

The old VGA output was on the expansion slot. For the time being the expansion slot will be empty (well some round SCSI/IDE cables take some space) but will be used in the future for the Delfina Input/Outputs.

Sorry to bumb this thread but I thought of sharing one more morning update since I was in the mood for more hack when I woke up

First of all I spend a long time to measure, dremel and sand the area above the PCMCIA where the CF adapter would go... Result was perfect!

Time for putting the custom 44pin cable (stripped carefully) into position :)
Aye, DVD-RW fits so much better now!

Some more informative pics about the way I got the power cables with hot tube to ease a bit the mess, along with the PicoPSU+Ian's Adapter positioning (along with the space for the extra Fan that will blow the mini heatsinks).

An voila... Everything works like a charm!

One more nightly build... ehm, I mean update :)

It was time for the internal DVD-RW to take it's proper position and case to be dremeled...

Before I start, I thought of putting an extension to the Eject button (that tiny soldering was hard for meh skillz)

After putting the correct spacers... the result was really cool (yep the measuring, filling etc, took a lot of time). Also a tiny 25mm fan was put under the side of the DVD-RW just to give a little bit of cooling to Indy etc.

The backside of the DVD-RW was put with a little drip of hotglue to Idefix Express Gayle adapter and CF adapter.

The most irritating and most difficult part was measuring, cutting and filling A1200's case for the slot-in's hole :wooha:
Talking about a loooooooooong time and patience. I wouldn't do that again for the world! Also a tiny button was put into place (next to the hole) as an Eject button along with a header.

Everything was mounted and AT LAST... I saw my miggy closed after 1.5 year!
Haven't took a photo yet but will do in the next update that is gonna be soon. I just feel good for finally coming close to completion.

Looking Great there mfilos, top quality workmanship :D another ultimate A1200 out there, just need to get me one. :D

Looking better every day mate! Seeing this first-hand, i can only say: WOW! :D

YES! Well done mate! that is teh awesomeness! :D I understand how you feel with cutting that damn hole, it really tries the patience. Of all the things i've done to my A1200, that slot cutting was the most bottom rumbly of the lot. Feels good when its done eh mate? Whew! :)

Thanks for your nice words guys.
Les my friend, it really felt good when everything put together and worked!

Next steps is mounting the Subway to it's permanent position and start messing with Delfina (after checking if it works)...
That will be a pain in the butt to hack and fit but at least Phipscube showed the way lol

Yes mate, go on! Get those connectors off the Delfina! :) If you decide to remove the clockport pins and solder wires directly, make sure you keep intact the two small capacitors underneath, these are essential for PPC use. Take these off and Delfina works only with Non PPC cards... keep them on, it only works with PPC and not others. They are very important.

Thanks for the info my friend. Will gief it a look and PM you if I have issues or questions :)

Cheers thx mate!
Still many things to be done but I work on the miggie whenever I have time and appetite :)

Impressive work.

I just spent an hour watching this thread and it's really one of the best A1200 mod that I have seen.

Thanks for sharing this experience with us.

There's a lot of hardware which is almost impossible to find... that helps, for sure.

/me really would like to find a nice 1200 desktop to mod too...

This kinda of stuff is inspirational really..I'm in awe. I clearly mispent my youth watching actual porn when i should have been learning about amiga hackery porn

LOL thx for the good words mate.
I'm actually into making more custom Kickstarts atm for this beast along with an awesome ClassicWB 3.9 along with CGX4, AfAOS, Ken's Icons, Antialiased fonts and all teh extra shiz :)
It's been really cool although... It might be the beast's SWAN SONG.

I'm really hopin' I can find an A4000 with my A1200's characteristics although it seems everyday harder and harder :(

I'll have to mug you bring you back here chain you up and force you to work on my amiga lol :) this retro lark is expensive and I had a child recently which has this habit of draining funds!!

A beautiful miggy Marios, stunning work and cleverly put together with care. A++++++++++++++

Well not an actual hardware upgrade... But a software one that is :)

I was tinkering the last days with a custom ClassicWB 3.9 installation on my beasty.

So atm the system is working on a special Bloodwych's ClassicWB 3.9 version that contains BB1 through BB4, CGX4, AfAOS 4.7 (+Ken's Icons+Antialiased fonts), WarpDT, HSMathLibs, Oxypatcher plus lotsa Programs and Internet applications.
It has installed drivers for my Delfina and Subway USB along with Remus, Genesis and all is running @ 1360x768 resolution that is the native resolution of my Samsung 23" LCD/TV (tinkering CGX mode to get the best result took me more than 30mins).

Ofc that wouldn't be so perfect if it wasn't running on uber Custom Kickstart 3.9 EPROM that contains all the BB4 modules, plus Cosmos latest SCSI.device, PeterK's latest Icon.library plus some extra modules like BPPCFix, Morelibspace (from AfA OS).

Rebootless loading as fast as possible was needed for this elegant beast that now works like a charm having the goods from all worlds
- Bloodwych's awesome environment and l33t DOpus configuration
- RTG + DualPNG Icons + Antialiased fonts
- Many proggies for all taste and custom making :) (Remus, ImageStudio + Rebel's palette etc).

System runs stable and quick and I'm really happy with it. You can check a quick video I took some minutes ago here:

I just wish I had an A4000 with Deneb to be able to make custom ROMage along with Guides and How-To's... Oh well who knows... I might get lucky @ some point :)

Cheers
