I have recently had to upgrade my PC case, so my old one is up for grabs.

The reasons I had to upgrade is that my new GFX Card doesn't correctly dissipate heat - it just seems to blow it around the case! Also, my PSU has far too many long wires, which made cable management a bit tricky. Basically, my PC had outgrown its case :( (Plus, it was a good excuse to get a new toy!)

Anyway. The case for sale.

It is a black Xigmatech ASGuard. Currently it is set up for a full-sized ATX motherboard, but the standoffs can be moved around.

It has the capability to be tool-less for expansion cards and drives. I did take the expansion card holder bit out though - in my mind, there's nowt like a good ole fashioned screw for keeping cards in place. It is included, and I can re-attach it if you would like me to. (Last Picture)

There are tool-less holders that will hold 2 5.25" drives and 2 internal 3.5" drives (with 1 spare). There are also 2 holders to hold a 3.5" external drive. However, I used normal screws to hold things in a bit better. I have put all the holders in one side (orange x things). The other side has none. (5th Picture) (update: Apparently, the other side isn't supposed to have any - you just secure your drive with only one of these orange x things, so they are all there!)

The front panel has 2 USB1/2 ports, and headphone and mic jacks. It has 2 buttons, power and reset. The power button has a red led under it, and the HDD led shines through the reset button. It is generally a rather quiet and subdue front. All the cables are present and correct.

All 7 rear black blanking plates are present and correct, as are the motherboard standoffs.

It has a mounting point at the front of the case for a 120mm fan, and one on the rear for either a 80mm or 120mm fan.

I will include 2 brand new 120mm fans (picture 6), one that lights up with blue LEDs, and one plain fan - both made (or at least badged) as Zalman. These came with my new case, but I haven't used them. There is also a large 140mm fan on the side of the case to push air around. The LED fan and 140mm fan both have 3 pin motherboard connectors, whilst the other Zalman fan has a molex passthrough connector. I can adapt this to be a 3 pin motherboard connector also, but there will be no speed monitoring available on it.

There is also a little beeper-on-a-stick kind of thing - basically a little buzzer that plugs into your motherboards speaker connector, and a "Fan Tamer" to slow one of the fans down and silence it. I used it with the 140mm fan. (Pics 7 and 8)

Both sides of the case do come off with black thumb-screws. There is plenty of space to access the rear of the CPU cooling assembly, and a bit of space for cable management -just not loads!

It is in generally good condition, and will make an ideal case for a mid-range PC, or even a retro one. As this is a used case, the front panel internal "snap-off" blanking plates have been removed, and I have lost the top-most external blanking plate. (I hope that makes sense!) There is a bit of residue inside the case from where I glued an air filter to the side panel (3rd picture)

I will, of course remove all dust from the case before shipping. I was too busy rebuilding my PC to clean it there and then. The front of the case does have a dust filter, and the camera has picked up this dust through the case mesh!

For those that suffer allergies, I do have a pet dog and cat. This will probably be fine, but I know second hand fans can collect pet hair. I don't smoke, so it wont be too smelly :)

For this, I am asking £15 paypal gift, which includes UK Postage. It will be sent in a proper box (the same box my new case arrived in) via the courier My Hermes. If you want full tracking etc then it'll cost a teeny bit more. See below.

These "upgrades" stand ONLY with the case. I will not need to add more to p&p.

£1 for Full tracking/signature on delivery

£2 for a 450watt "el-cheapo" PSU. Has 1 SATA and many molex connectors, 1 floppy connector. Has 20+4 pin power connector and a 4 pin CPU Power connector. It is a cheap brand, the sort OEM's such as Acer and HP give with their builds. This PSU vents air across, so should keep the "hot-spot" clear. Useful until you can get a better one.

£3 for a Black Facia DVD Writer - PATA connector. Works a treat. It hasn't had much use as it was in my works PC - so perhaps only installed Visual Studio! I will give a PATA cable with this (A blue round one)

£2 for a new Black Facia Floppy Drive. I will try find a good floppy connector, but I believe I only have flat ribbon connectors.

Finally,
£4 for a pair of used but clean Arctic Cooling F12 tc fans. (These have their own thermostats, so can regulate their own speed) These are both 3 pin connectors.

If you opt for everything, the total will be reduced a bit to £25 including shipping.

Ok, so what does the case look like when over-populated?
These inside bits are not for sale, it just shows the "hotspot", and lack of cable management for my psu.

1st pic, behind the PSU is where hot air gets trapped. My psu only takes air from below, not the side.

2nd pic, too many cables, not enough space :(
