My little Guinea Rocky broke his Toe this week, poor little fella :(

Took him to the vet yesterday to have the broken claw removed, please to say he is recovering well.

Here he is bathing his sore toe in salt water :coffee:

Not sure how it happened, we noticed on Tuesday he was limping and went to trim his nails and one was in a right state. Must have got his claw caught in something...

Anyway, he'll be back to his old self in no time I'm sure!

Lets cheer him on, ROCKY ROCKY ROCKY ROCKY ROCKY ROCKY ROCKY ROCKY ROCKY!!!!!!!!!! :D

Glad the little fella is on the mend Steve

Thanks & sorry to hear that mate.

We've loast a few guinea's over the years, they usually live about 5 years, Rocky is 3&1/2 now I think. We also have Twiglett & Ninja Pig :ninja:

Twiglett is Rocky's Mum, he had a Sister (Lela) but she died about a year ago from a growth in her throat :(

We don't know who the Dad was! She came to use pregnant and was a surprise when we ended up with two more

Ninja Pig is a nut case, and a legend at the Vet, their only Diabetic Guinea Pig  Yep, she needs daily insulin so we have to inject her which was a bit strange at first but we're used to it now.

sorry about rocky mate i hope he gets well soon

@justin sorry to hear that mate when i lost my ratty i said i would not have another

Ah fitzy, little guinea pigs rule.

We had two several years ago - Chris and Tony, they were legends. Pop-corning, doing turbo runs in the garden, squeaking when you shake the food bags.

Great memories.

All the best for Rocky's recovery, with a name like that he is going to be fine no matter what!

They're all so cute! I owned a guinea pig once but I soon found out they weren't my pet of choice. I hope Rocky feels better soon!

Sorry to hear about Rocky mate.

Our Guinea Pig (Hazel) had a swollen back leg when we went to pick her and Willow (our other piggy) up from the Boarding vet after out Easter holiday. Seems to be healing now though. We are giving her an anti-inflamatory daily just now to bring the swelling down (watching her lick up this from the syringe is the cutest thing ever!).

Ahh bless mate, hope she's feeling better.

We're going Rocky Baytril just to fight any infection & agreed the oral treatments are the funniest, especially if they don't like it - they pull a great Yuk! face

I hope you realize, that this thread is making me want to get a couple now...

Ahh the loss of a pet (for me especially a cat) is a very difficult time. I'm sorry for you.

Its the thing all pet owners dread: the ending.

But she will be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge:

And for me this is the better way of thinking of it
