I can't get Super Mario Allstars + Super Mario World cart to work. All it gives me is a black screen and on occasion (rarely) a screen with garbage.

I've opened it up and it looks in good condition. I've cleaned the edge connector and even tested the battery (good @ 3.3v) and tried the cart in 3 different consoles. The consoles are fine and all my other games work on all of them.

It's no big deal as I have an everdrive and I also have both Allstars and Mario World carts separately but it would be nice to have this cart working too.

If it was me I would try checking continuity of all connectors, resistors, ICs with a multimeter, replace or resolder anything that needed it, and if all else fails try burning a new EPROM. But I probably wouldn't bother doing all that for a fairly common cart like All Stars.

So yeah, blow on it

Use something nice and strong to clean the contacts. In Australia we have metal polish called Brasso. Contacts will become nice a shiny. Gets ever cart working first time every time.

I've got some Brasso here at home. It stinks but I guess I've got nothing to lose by giving it a go.

I use steel wool to clean contacts of carts always does the job for me if that is all the problem is.
