Hi all,
So, I need some guidance on the right thing to do in the following scenario:
1) I have several (bulky) items listed.
2) User with very low post number expresses an interest.
3) We agree a price, on the understanding that we will meet near the buyer's part of the UK 'within the next few weeks'. NB. My job takes me literally all over the country; making picking up and dropping off bulky bits of Amiga a breeze as long as both buyer and seller are patient souls.
4) I ask for a 10% deposit on the total - which arrives via Paypal 'friends' payment type by return. We are talking c £25 here.
So, fast forward to last Friday - I now know exactly when I will be in the buyer's part of the world next, so I PM to let them know. This is giving 3 weeks notice btw. No reply. So I PM again a few days later. No reply. So I PM again, and check to see their last login time; which is after I last PM'ed them. Still nothing.
My visit is looming and I am a bit stuck. The kit is bulky, and I can't fit it in the boot along with the IT kit I am carrying without leaving stuff on view overnight in the hotel carpark. The guy is not responding....
Do I:
- Refund his deposit and put it down to irritating experience.
- Keep his deposit...that is why we have deposits to be lost if people change their minds, and relist.
Please can someone help me with the right thing to do within the site rules here?
Ta.
