Did you tried to connect the hxc (could be a gotek???) in another modern computer to see how it goes?

No i havent, it worked well with my amiga, and now the 486 is even more stuck, it restart's on its own, i only really own a functional amiga and functional 486 floppy disk computer with cd-rom.

If it's setup for an Amiga then it wont work in a PC. You may have to buy a Gotek with the original firmware for the PC. (make sure it's the 1.44mb version)
