Right, next it's a unit for emulating Amiga, then c64, then space invaders.. No thanks. One handheld is more than enough for me. Even plays much of snk's other stuff too :ninja:

I don't see the point either when there are handhelds that can emulate them all. I'll be sticking with my Gizmondo :D

Did this ever see release? I'd much rather get a Vita or 3DS (or PSP full of emulators ) myself, but would be interesting to see this in action.

AFAIK it's scheduled for december/x-mas.

Yeah, it's quite interesting :)

Good riddance, hopefully.

Since i've never tried a real Neo Geo i've been tempted by the X.

Is it any good? I.e. does it work like the original or is there issues with games, slow down, odd sound (like the blaze MD) and when docked can it actually take the original games or would i better off looking for a proper console?

It's bad emulation, especially sound, not to mention the video output is atrocious and has tearing. The RRP on the game addons are

Not good in an official product.

Go the MVS route - would actually work out cheaper than one of these in terms of hardware but at least you could get the games you specifically want

Apparently you pay for the name. Generally it's fairly generic Chinese made portable emulation hardware underneath. That along with the cheapness of the plastics makes this a bit of a cheap feeling product. This is what I hear from various reviewers and sources anyway. SNK for me is (or should be) a sign of real quality which is why I never got it personally.

I know you've already decided against it now, but Dr. Ashen's review of the thing says, and shows, it all.

The "dock" is particularly laughable.

I'd like to see the old hardware in there. Sure, it would need to be modernised a bit, slimmed and economised, but it would be great to see.

Never going to happen, but great to see

Loads of hate for these over on neo-geo forums!

If only I had more time atm as I really wanna play on my MVS!

If you like to play Neo Geo Games, i would agree that an MVS, a supergun and some MVS Modules are the cheaper and better way to play.
But for me as a collector, the X is a great item that looks great between the real Neo Geo and the Neo Geo CD and some shock Boxes :)

Yes, it does look very nice :)

It's a shame they never fixed the sound and video out issues.

I've seen it speculated that this is where the unsold GameGadget units went (I'm sure everyone knows that the same crowd were responsible for that disaster), which is probably why they never fixed anything.
