Hey guys,

I have the excellent new A1200 cases that were recently the result of a successful kickstarter. I'd like to open the USB ports, and the CF spot above the PCMCIA slot. What's the cleanest way to do that? For some reason I thought these holes were completely pre-drilled/opened but they are not. I don't want this to look like garbage when I'm done so I'm curious what other people have done.

Thanks!

Glad you asked this, id love to know myself

I'm going to attempt to open up the HxC area in a couple of weeks - I think a steady hand and a sharp craft knife should do the trick, as it's pretty thin in those areas. The plastic was easy enough to file when I opened up a spot for a DVDROM

When I do it, absolutely ;) We're just gearing up to go off on Easter hols, but I'm at work the week after which is notoriously quiet, so I'll be doing a fair bit of 'work' on my Miggy!

It would have been great had made the edges of the cutouts thinner so they could be cut out easier. I want to do the cutout for my HxC but I think it might still end up not being as nice and straight as I would like. Still, it's better than trying to do it with an original case. :)

i have cutted a lot of holes for 16x2 displays by using dremel. Always cut a little bit smaller hole and then correct it by using fine file not so nice as factory made, but still good enough.. ;)
