Hi!

I'm relatively new to the Amiga; I grew up with the Acorn Archimedes while all my friends had A500s. (Though I did read Amiga Power extensively...) Lately I've been wanting to scratch the itch and see what the Amiga was all about, and now I find myself with an A2000, happily getting sucked in.

I'm primarily a bit of a gamer - I remember playing Acorn ports of classics like Lemmings extensively, so I've been trying out the originals to see what differences there were, and a whole range of games I'd missed or which I'd only been exposed to through Youtube.

Beyond the Amiga I'm fond of RISC OS still, with a StrongARM RiscPC, as well as myriad classic consoles from the Neo-Geo to the PC Engine and beyond.

Hey Vulpine,

Welcome to Amibay, I 100% guarantee you've come to the right place to get that itch sorted! lol.

Always great to see new members and I hope you enjoy your time here, Don't be afraid to ask anything, as there's no such thing as a silly question, and there's a fair amount of very knowledgeable guru's on here that love to help.

:)

@ Vulpine

I'm sort-of your opposite. I started with C64s and Amigas and have only got into BBCs, Elks and Archies in recent years.

@ Merlin

What do you make of RISC OS, coming from a Commodore background? It's interesting to compare two early mouse-driven GUIs with each other and see the differences and similarities. I always loved contextual menus everywhere in RISC OS.

Hi!

I'm also a new Amiga user. But I'm not 1st timer in gaming era of different platforms what starts early 80's for me.

My Playing years has started before C64 was released. I've seen so much how gaming has been evolved. I was so young I barely walk at that time when I was start to play. My family 1st video game console name I even can't recall or remember but Pacman is the only game for that TV-game platform. C64 was very nice personal computer at the 80's and I was grow up with C64 era. I was still lucky to be able to see and play Amiga in my friends in 80's to 90's, still we don't own any Amiga. After that from the 90's to these years I've been own PC's and seen how much those also changed.

Many years I have been thinking to buy Amiga one day. This year the time was right for me and I'm back to the retro gaming. Now I own A500, A500+ and A1200 /W CFHD @ 030/28Mhz 8MB accelerator and more mods to come hopefully. I'm very pleased the Amigas I own and what satisfaction it can gave when I could play games what I love to play when I was kid. I have always give so much respect for the game developers of 80's and early 90's how they beta tested those back in the days. That is the reason why retro games is still fun to play, because game developers were always finalize game good as they possibly can before put it on sale at the markets.

My English ain't native so I hope you won't take too much critic on that. I'll hope you guys understand how my gaming and passion for retro stuff starts and still lives on. I can't explain youngsters why retro gaming and stuff is awesome because they see it totally different eyes and perspective than I am.

Best Regards,
JarppaK
