I just bought my first Amiga over the weekend at Retro Revival in Wolverhampton. I've never had an Amiga unitil now, always went a different way with gaming and computers in my youth. I had an Atari ST, but I'm pretty interested in the Amiga. i have been for some time, but at the show there was an A600 going cheap, and... why not?

I met some nice people there, who told me that I should sign up for AmiBay. I took that advice, and so I'm writing an introductory post. I'm planning to pick up some memory expansions for this A600 if possible, and a CF adaptor too. In fact I was supposed to pick up the CF adaptor that day, but I didn't manage to bump into that bloke again. Other people at the show told me his username, but I can't write PMs until I have made 2 posts...

Hi & welcome to Amibay! Really sorry we kept missing each other on Sunday.

I sent you a PM and have kept your adapter to one side

I hope you enjoy the site and your new Amiga :)

Welcome to Amibay - you've run into two of the bods again already - works quite well :-)

Congrats on the A600 purchase - careful though - you'll end up with a fully loaded A3000/A4000 if you enjoy it too much ;-)

My first goal is to get this one in shape to run WHDLoad and get to know the OS a bit. Once I've done that... I'll see if the scene tempts me in any deeper.

Hi and welcome!

Be sure to search the Internet for the Amiga manuals if you did not get any with your A600. They were very well written for people who were coming from different systems. Reading them will definitely help you get more out of your Amiga.
