Selling a very nice and very complete Amiga 4000D desktop system. The motherboard is fully refurbished A4000D Rev B motherboard. It's fully tested and everything works, holds time, sound crisp and loud, all ports work etc..
It's kind of a "project" A4000D - luckily most of the important and difficult work is done already, alas I don't have the time to finish all the small details (see below).
Many hours went into this board to get it in this state, and it will hold for many years. Hundreds of Amiga boards went through my hand through the years, so you can be sure that all the work was done correctly and in the best quality possible. (My old service thread here for reference: Service for Amiga 4000 3000 2000 1200 600 A3640 A3630 capacitor, SIMM socket, HDD&FDD port repair or replacement)
What you get:
- Fully refurbished A4000 Rev B motherboard in pristine condition, absolutely no battery leak (I purposely didn't solder the lithium battery kit to show this)
- A3660 + with genuine 66MHz 68060 (LC) CPU + NEW active cooler + 50/60/66MHz crystals
- 16MB FAST RAM (matching modules) + 2MB Chip RAM
- Original licensed 3.1 KickStart ROMs
- Mouse in used but nice and clean condition
- All new caps using high-grade organic polymer parts (will never leak again)
- 5x new SIMM sockets with metal clips (will never break again)
- 2x NEW CIA's on sockets
- ZORRO Riser (not recapped but works stable, but I'm inlcuding a long life cap kit anyway)
- Original PSU. All voltages checked, minimal noise, works stable (not recapped).
- "A4000 040" Full case kit, front panel with KEYS!
(all clips intact NOT broken, NEW high quality transparent 3M feet (old rubber feet have disintegrated) previous owner has crossed out the "120V" marking on the back panel for some reason. In any case the PSU is 230V (EU) variety.
- Metal cover nice condition.
- All inner mechanical parts, cross bar, insulation foil, power button bar, slot bracket, expansion blank, HDD brackets etc.. all included, and as a bonus the original front 3.5" and 2.5" slot covers too
- Original Chinon FZ-357A High Density FDD is included
- Gotek drive
- 52x CD-ROM
- Screws kit + FDD/HDD ribbon cables (including easy access thumb screws) and CPU standoffs
- Lithium battery kit
- Micro PSU kit for the A3660 if you want it to run cooler, works fine with the current regulator.
Notes:
Please understand that the system will come disassembled as seen on the photos. partly because I can pack it safer that way, and partly because I don't have the time to put it together. To the best of my knowledge the system is complete, but I can't guarantee that I didn't miss an odd screw etc... and won't be able to provide support how to build and test the system properly. You will need skills, correct tools and patience, not a trivial task, as A4000 systems were not built for easy home assembly like modern PC's. So you have to be careful to do it properly not to damage it or cause shorts (like connectors in reverse etc..). If you are not confident in this, then do not buy this system - sold as it is in it's current state. No warranty and no returns.
Also, please note that even though the A3660 has a 66MHz CPU and boots with 66 and 60 MHz crystals, your mileage varies. I only guarantee stable operation at 50Mhz. Any higher clocking is purely for experimental purpose as it will overclock system signals on the motherboard.
The front panel and slot covers have some slight discoloration but not very noticeable, you can compare the color to the mouse bottom next to it which is very white. Few minor chips on the sides (check pictures), but top and bottom edges intact. Case metal cover has minor scuffs and spots here and there but overall nice condition (check pictures).
I'm asking 2684€ for the whole setup + shipping.
Insured shipping EU: 46€ (ask for other countries but priority will be given for EU buyers). Will be very well packed, ESD safe and protected.
