Dear Anagrama,

i am quite interested in this camera.
As we speak i am trying to convince wifey that we do need this toy to ensure our future happyness :)
The shipping you mentioned...is that for Netherlands, Europe also?

Grtz, PymerOne.

Oh?

I'm a Nikon person myself, so for indoor photography I recommend you add amazing Metz 58 AF-2 flash with bounce diffuser (even 2 sets if you can afford it), and inexpensive but excellent Nikkor 18-200 lens to this camera. I'm using similar setup on my wifey, and results bring me a lot of happyness.
:)

Great camera BTW!

I have bought one myself on here and also have the more expensive D300, I use the D70 as second body with fix 50 mm and are happy with the results.

As already mentioned here you should look for a flash and diffuser or two flashes remotes and diffusers it renders the minus of the d70 a d70 does not go high quality in high iso. But that is normal due to its price. Adding flashes keeps it in low iso 200 and strobist is also a branch of photograhpy that is quite interesting.

A very nice and easy camera to use, basic handling but all important functions are there, so you can make decent results.

Here is a flash that is known due to its low price but decent results

It can be slave so if you have one remote that triggers another flash this one goes with it, it is also easy to break open and put a power connector in it to hook up to a larger battery.

These remote makes the kit more complete

And then a visit to local shop for a stand and a diffuser for portable diffusing I have this one and it is real fun for nearby objects and moving around without the possibility to have two flashes

have fun  you need this:thumbsup:

PS: you do not find them local in that range

The camerasetup i am looking for is "allrounder"....
Its gone be used for scenery pics, detail pictures of electronic components, simple movies of the kids on dirtbikes and occasional a pic of a kid on horseback waydown in the field.
Reading what i type here, it seems i am asking for a lot....
Atm i use a HP photosmart 735, it does the things i want it to do.
Ofcourse the camera has its limitations, i am just wondering if this Nikon will perform that much more.

Grtz, PymerOne.

forget about simple movies it is a reflex camera not a toy. Latest models have this.

If you are passionate about this you can get much better results then with a portable,.

I have a photosmart myself, ink of a printer looses color it is just a matter of time and you find worse pictures. I always spend this to a print store

Then you should definately take my advice on Nikkor 18-200mm lens.
It's a real transformer, and you will probably need no other lense beside it.

It has compact design, and transforms from unbeleveably close range macro lens to extended telephoto lens in just one twist.

Good idea would be to get UV filter for better outdoor shots and protection, and/or a polarizing filter for scenery contrast and glare reduction.

@ PymerOne

I know that A1200 mainboard from somewhere ...

hehehe yep you do BlankStare :)
This tells me the pics i make with my old hp camera are not too bad.
Having no "video modus", me thinks the Nikon looses a few point on its (awesome) overall performance.

IMHO video on DSLR is totaly stupid feature.

I'm trying to visualize myself holdnig DSLR and taking video. I think I would look like an idiot, so I'll never do it. :-)

On a stupidity scale, it's like using a Porsche 911 GT3 for offroad racing.

Its idd a real spoil 18-200 I have a tamron, it lacks stabilisation but it stays to long on my body because of its range

Yeah I could ship to Europe for this price also

Dear Anagrama,

i made a list of the things i need to do with a camera.
Although in photo qualities your camera outranks my old hp compact camera by far, i do need video's.
I cant justify having to drag 2 cameras to every event.
Its just because of my stupid demands that i have to decline interest...sorry to have wasted your time.

Grtz, PymerOne.

I have sent this to some foto clubs. The D70 might be to light, but somebody might like it for the lens and as a second body. This offer beats local market.

Hi Anagrama,

I'm interested in this camera. Pls check your pm for more info (Just realized that I need to declare my interest in the thread. So here it goes.)

Thanks.
