Not particularly excited, as with all N-games-on-a-chip remakes...

The only thing i do like about this one is the controller, since it can also plug into a Wii or WiiU remote. Hope they'll sell those separately :D

ermm...what?

"UPDATE: A USB cable is included but an AC adapter, which is not included, is "required" to use the machine."

that make a lot of sense....

I think it's a pretty nice design, and even the boxes follow the calssic style.

Sounds like it will be USB powered so a generic USB plug/adapter such as those used for smartphones. No idea on power draw yet though

Mmmh, so its just plain 30 title jack-in-a-box without possibility to use original cartridges? Not interested.

Get yourself a Raspberry Pi or something similar and do it yourself cheaper and more comprehensively. It's just an emu box as worthless (in monetary terms) as free emulators imo.

well, it appears the Indiegogo campaign only reach 67% of it's goal.

It does look like they are going to fulfill the orders already placed (April '17) and are still taking pre-orders...

So stupendously tiny:

The only downside is that this is a EU/NA thing only meaning that it has no Japanese release so when it sells the inevitable few million that its bound to and Nintendo wheel out the SNES Classic Mini it will be the fugly USA version instead of the Super Famicom shape.

Still, this is exceedingly cool mainly for its retro nerd appeal.

I've got a preorder as it looks seriously cool but will be sorting myself a Pi soon too :D

I'm thinking of getting a Pi 3 as well but I don't think they are powerful enough to run Dreamcast perfectly yet, have you heard of the Odroid C2? It's a lot more powerful but isn't as well known nor supported.

I found this this if it is of any help, similar process to Pi but specific Linux OS: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Odroid

As for hardware being powerful enough...it sounds more like the emulator isn't robust enough. The Odroid is effectively double Pi spec but ultimately the performance will depend on the compilers. More overhead and grunt that's for sure!

Great find, thanks. Seeing as I know naught of linux and whatnot I've been checking out the net for videos on the Pi and its performance and it seems to be hit and miss, that 1GB of RAM doesn't do it any favours and thus far I'm seeing that my OG Xbox is performing much better in terms of general emulation upto N64.

The Odroid looks handy as it can run Android apps to off which there are plenty but its support is generally lacking as the Pi 3 is so much more popular. Maybe best holding off for the Pi 4 whenever that drops as I can only tolerate emulation if it plays exactly like the original hardware, none of this "almost" stuff.

personally, I'd love it if someone were able to do a 2nd gen all-in-one like the RetroN/Yobo stuff that accepted Atari/Coleco/Intellivision/Odyssey2 carts...

Sega (well AtGames I guess...) is also apparently (re)releasing the Sega Genesis/MegaDrive Classic, with 80 games (and takes the carts as well I believe)
