Selling a NOS SupraDrive 500XP expansion, with software and paperwork. Even though the card says 1MB, it comes fully populated with 8MB RAM which is the maximum. The original 50MB Quantum hard drive is not included, however all mounting screws and cables are present. Probably a better idea to install a SCSI->SD or CF solution anyway.

Comes with also NOS and boxed power supply including cables and a small leaflet. This is a North American version requires 117V AC input so probably mainly interesting for USA members. The expansion and PSU has been tested, 8MB Fast RAM shows and tests fine.

The PSU has been measured out and provides a stable 5V and 12V supply. All driver disks are readable/bootable.

Brand new, in original box, beautiful condition. I appreciate small details like the powder coated mounting screw heads to match the case color etc.. Overall one can tell it's a fine piece of hw made in the US of A  . Never used it myself, has been sitting (on display) in my collection for many years.

Rarely seen in the wild (an USA product) especially in this condition.

Considering the above my asking price is 469€ 448€ 419 396 Offers welcome. Plus 28€ postage in EU, and 48€ rest of the world + fees.

Please send a PM after declaring interest (as per forum rules). If you only write "Interested" on the thread nothing will happen until you send me a PM.

Also on sale elsewhere.

I wanted to thank @tbtorro for his help. I asked him about the screws from the SupraDrive 500XP case because I bought one recently and it came without them. To my huge surprise, none of the screws I have, and I have countless different ones, fits(!)

OP provided me with this technical data and I thought it'd be a shame to keep this private (OP agreed to publish it):

All measurements are mm and approximate:
  • Diameter: 2.41
  • Length: 4.16
  • Threaded length: 2.85
  • Head diameter: 4.85
  • Thread spacing: 0.33

I still don't know where to buy them so feel free to mention a source (in Europe).

While I’m at it, I’d also like to share some information about affordable memory for this expansion. If you don’t need more than 2 MB, you can buy 20 chips (2 x 10) for just around 11.58€ on Aliexpress (free shipping to Germany, not sure about other countries). I chose TMS44C256-70N, and they all work perfectly. (The expansion requires 16 chips, so 4 will remain as spares.)

I'm not sure how it is in the complete set but my unit had the LEDs simply inserted on long legs and could easily bend (the instruction warns the user a few times about it so this is probably how it was "designed"). So I designed an LED support and it does the job wonderfully:

I printed it with TPU because I wanted it to be flexible. I'm satisfied with the result. The project can be found here, on Thingiverse.

I have now tested the drive with the PSU, all 8 MB Fast RAM shows and tests OK.
