Has anyone ever seen an upgrade package to add a hard drive to an A1200? A friend of mine was told many years ago that no such thing existed when he wanted to buy a drive for his A1200. I just purchased an NOS kit to do just that. Was this perhaps only sold in certain places?

I can find no record of Part Number: 591201-02 in my old Amiga parts catalog. Maybe it came later.

Oh well, I'm glad to have it.

The number AS217 under the sticker is a manual booklet package and is in my catalog. This kit has software and some hardware as well. Odd.

It has the Workbench 3.0 install disk and the fonts disk.

I found a reference to this item as a new offering from late 1993 describing it this way:

A1200 Hard Drive Kit- $39
P/N: 591201-01

- install disk and fonts disk
- cable assembly
- mounting screws
- Amiga Hard Disk User's Guide
- AmigaDOS manual
- Amiga ARexx manual
- upgrade instructions
- approved hard drive list

Available from authororized Commodore resellers; the A1200 hard drive kit
requires Commodore Authorized Service installation.

The sticker on both disks is not as fancy as those included with machines but the part numbers are the same. P/N for fonts disk is: 370130-01

I remember these kits being offered from resellers. Similar to the kickstart upgrade packs.
