ive finally got around to playing with novacoders Quake (on aminet)
and the speed is great and it plays very well on a 68060 at 66mhz on low res, higher res does slow it down as you would expect.
a big well done to novacoder.
this is an excellent time to have a fast Amiga
Hit the Quake icon and wait a few seconds for quake to launch in native AGA. its well worth it folks. it runs as well as it did on my PC when the game came out, i bought it on release when ever that was (june 1996?)

Short: Amiga port of WinQuake v1.09
Author: novacoder
Uploader: novacoder
Type: game/shoot
Version: 1.12
Architecture: m68k-amigaos >= 3.1.0
Distribution: Aminet
Kurz: Amiga Portierung von WinQuake v1.09
Overview:
Port of WinQuake which is the "official" Source port of Quake to Windows.
WinQuake lacks support for high-resolution textures, has no "modern" 3D graphics (such as dynamic shadows) and lacks colored lighting.
It is good for lower-end computers, or for oldschool players who prefer the game's original look.
Requirements:
1) An AGA Amiga
2) A very fast 68060 processor (with FPU)
3) 32MB of FASTRAM
4) The original game or demo
