Right now I'm working on a couple Amigas for a guy that is big into sampling/mods/sequencing audio and mixing that with his new stuff. He's a young guy, which on these boards means about 40. His knowledge of Amiga is limited. His interest in the platform started about 5yrs ago with his reference platforms being Mac and PC. Even if you use one of those platforms you can stumble around in the other to get things done. With the Amiga OS it is more difficult to jump in and get things done. He is an end user that is focused on apps. He just wants things to work.

What's is your opinion for ease of use? An example is he downloaded a 40MB zipped mods/samples file and didn't know how to get it on his A2000. My current plan is to setup a Raspberry Pi that allows him to surf and download things from the Internet. From there, have an FTP server running on the RPI. From there, have his Amiga(s) connect and download. The task of unzipping the file, saving to various disk images (ADF/DMS) then using either floppies or Gotek for input to the Amiga is something old farts don't mind (i.e. me) but too task heavy for those youngings. He really likes using an actual Amiga. So solutions like FS-UAE on a Mac don't hold much interest. I could setup the FTP on his Mac but I have limited hands on experience there and no Macs to test with.

Do you have a better solution?
