Hooray! Just like when I owned an Amiga as a wee lad, I once more have to ask permission to get one. This time, instead of asking my mam and dad for an Amiga, I had to run it by the wife (To be fair, she lets me get away with murder) and I've gotten a tentative thumbs up. Tentative because she thinks buying a 20 year old computer is silly, and we also have a car to fix (amongst other things). With tentative comes a "Fine, if it means that much to you, go ahead, but if you spend more than X amount, I'll snap your legs off and beat you to death with them."

Ahem. So anyways. Here's what I'm after...

A PAL A1200. (I had an A500+ growing up in Ireland, but an A1200 makes more sense). Ideally with a hard drive. Preferably not a compact flash one, given the reports I've read. It'd be really, really, really nice if the capacitors were replaced, and there wasn't battery jibblies all over the board.

An accelerator would be REALLY nice, and from sniffing around on here at A1200s with Blizzards it might be doable, but from what I've also seen, the price of Blizzard boards depends on the time of day, phase of the moon, and position of the stars. (ie, they seem to swing all over the place)

The fly in the ointment though is that - wait for it - this needs to be shipped to America. (Zip code 94901, for those trying to suss out the cost, which universally seems to be about £45)

Given that I'm in the states, it probably doesn't make much sense to ship me a power brick. I'm planning on snagging the GBS-8220 to put together a flicker fixer as outlined here for use on a monitor I already have, so think that just the computer itself (and mouse, I suppose) is all I need sent this way. In an ideal world, someone from America is reading this and has a PAL A1200 they want to offload, but either way, if you've got something that fits the bill, let me know what you have and what you want - including a postage/shipping quote.

In the meantime I'll be sniffing around classifieds and the "other" bay for a suitable machine, and will ask for this to be closed if something comes up.
