So, I have a set of parallel cables, a parallel switcher and my A1200 and 3000. So, I'll be adding an Amithlon equipped P3 one to the mix so I wanted to do a Parallel network. here is a rough idea:

Amithlon Machine

Input

A3k---- Channel A --Parallel Switcher--Channel B ----A1200

So, is this a possible setup? If so, what program should I use to transfer files to each one. The Amithlon one will have direct access to the parallel port, so no WinUAE fiddling. Also, is this a practical/reliable setup considering speed, ease of use, etc? I have one monitor, and was going to use a VGA switcher to swap displays quickly and easily on one monitor (all my computers can display on VGA)

Just remember to switch computers off when hitting the switcher.

Just the real Amiga computers will suffice. Amithlon can keep running.

Program, you said? Choose your own Parnet package of choice. SPar372 looks like an excellent choice (parnet'ing using SANA-II drivers - or is the vice-versa?).

Thanks, I'll look into it. Nobody wants a blown CIA set, so I'll remember.

I second what rkauer is saying here whole heartedly, I parnetted between two amigas back in the day, and I've blown two sets of CIAs by drinking beer and being careless about it.

Damned beer.

I guess you are right

As you can say: It's not guns that kill people, it's people.

Was it cheap budweiser type (pretty sure you've heard of the american lager, think Clydesdale horses)

It was Mack Øl (øl = beer)

It's a bitter and nice beer, and it's local.
