Hi all, i picked up my first ever PC Engine this week since i've wanted to try one for a while.
Well i ended up grabbing the Core Grafx system with everdrive from Ebay.
It came with a 3rd party PSU, AV cable, controller & Everdrive.
I've played with it for a little while but found the Composite video to be poor quality on my TV (lines & jailbars through the image) so thought i'd look into an RGB mod.
Turns out its pretty simple on this model.
The Core Grafx has a 5 pin AV socket on the side, this can be removed and replaced with an 8 pin socket. I recycled my 8 pin socket from a dead Mega Drive model 1.
So old one removed and new socket installed. The motherboard only has space for the 5 pins so the extra 3 were cut short at the back of the socket and wires soldered directly to them. The Red/Green/Blue signals were pulled directly from the video chip.

Image is really sharp now

And all back together and looks like it was factory installed.
