Hello,
offering here a Combo of two cards: Picasso II RTG Clone GBAPII++ & Flicker Fixer / Scandoubler, these was designed for big box Amigas like A2000, A3000 or A4000
Both cards are Open-Source projects designed by Matthias Heinrichs
this Graphic card is also commercially available at kryoflux (<-link).
both cards are ENIG (hard gold) finish and was hand soldered by me
Graphic Card
The GBAPII++ is a Zorro II Amiga graphic card featuring the fast Cirrus GD5434 graphics chip and 2MB of video-ram.
An automatic monitor-switch between VGA-source and RTG-graphics is integrated
Compared to a PicassoII+ board this card runs 76% faster on a A2630 on the importaint RectFill()-function in P96-Speed.
Further performance-results can be seen here (<-link)
The minimum system requirements are: Kichstart3.1, a 68020-CPU and 4MB of FastRAM and 2MB free in the ZorroII address space.
The maximum screen resolutions are 16.7M colors up to 800x600, 64k-colors up to 1024x768 and 8bit color up to 1280x1024.
All modes are non-interlaced with a minimum refresh rate of 60 Hz.
Flicker Fixer/Scandoubler:
A scandoubler doubles the horizontal frequency of the Amiga output from ~15.6kHz to ~31.5kHz to let a VGA monitor think it has the double number of lines.
In interlace two suceeding lines are transmitted via half frames @25Hz. A flicker fixer stores one frame in a field mem and uses it to complete the second frame @ 50 Hz. It removes the nasty interlace flicker.
Two switches allow some nice options:
Switch 1 activates a true bypass, for Multisync-Monitors
Switch 2 activates a true blank-signal for full black detection: many TFT-Displays display a dark grey instead of a real black. This fixes this issue for some games. However the Workbench will get much too dark with this option activated.
