There is rumors that they might be in development of PS 6(it maybe be going be 2 versions of it like Xbox S/X like one cheaper and other expensive and powerful) and wont be ready until 2027 or 2028

It going have double more power(or maybe 4x more power) PS 5 PRO

They want Path Tracing Graphics for console and 8K 60FPS( Dream on Sony LOL as Sony have Struggle 4k base PS 5 in some games!)

Also there links to it as well https://www.gamingbible.com/news/platform/playstation/playstation-6-price-leak-978106-20241030

Edit: It had been coming....

Look like there wont be CD Drive for PS 6 in 2027.

PS 6 might be Handheld console and also may have Dockable Console like Nintendo Switch 2.

I think I will wait for PS 7 thanks LOL

yeah I think PS 6 going less powerful than PS 5 if going be handheld console.

I think reason why they may want to do that is because they look how many Nintendo Switch console sold as I think they have sold 145m so far.

News just in that Rumors, Sony going have 2 versions of PS 6, Console and Handheld. I think Xbox will be doing the same too.

TBH I lost interest in next gen consoles after the PS3 became widely available. Am too old in the tooth now to go chasing after the "next best thing".

I'll leave that to Gen Z or whatever they call themselves these days 🤣

That is understandable. I think plug n play was way back in PS 2 without Need Internet or even download a game!

PS 3 with backward compatable is best system to owned.

On the contrary I got too old to build a new PC every other year. PS5 is the first console since PS2 I have used consistently. I've come to appreciate the "it just works" vibe of it all. Being a software developer it's also nice to sit somewhere else than my work station when gaming.

But then again, I'm satisfied with 60fps and ok graphics - not everybody are.

Sony hoping to make 8 core CPU with 32GB RAM and could be putting RTX 5080 (somethings like that) some sort.

i have a pro and normal ps5, i cant see the rush for ps6 as the pandemic sort of messed up gaming, i will buy a couple of ps6 when they come out as i brought two ps5 on release. great thing about consoles is there is no hassles with games in general. just a system update every now and again. i spend more time on my amigas at the moment.

PS 5 and PS 5 PRO? cant tell different in graphics apart from being bit sharper and Better Frames rates on PRO

i have two 42 inch tv's side by side, one 4k and one 1080p FHD and you can tell the difference when side by side but depends on the game. I tend to pay more attention when i have my nephews round playing. Also waiting for PSSR update for the pro that is coming at start of next year i believe, when i get time i will post some games as i own all digital so can use on either

You say "waiting for PSSR update for the pro that is coming at start of next year "

Yes, you are right as I did search on what sony was saying.....

Sony has confirmed that the PS5 Pro will receive a significant graphics upgrade in 2026, centered around a major enhancement to its PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling technology. This update, developed through a collaboration with AMD, will implement a "full-fat version" of the Fidelity FX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) algorithm, which is described as a "drop-in replacement" for the current PSSR system and will be straightforward for developers to integrate. The upgrade is expected to deliver improved image quality and performance, particularly for games released in 2026 and beyond, without requiring new hardware.
