I was somehow being unsubscribed from my own thread and did not get any activity notifications by email anymore. I now wrote you all a PM regarding your questions and orders. Thank you.

Damn ! My A1200 has iron RCA plugs... So i can't use a knife... Can you modify box for A1200 ?

The space between the audio jacks and the parallel port on the A1200 is indeed quite narrow (no problem on the other Amiga models). If your audio connectors have a diameter of 12mm or less, it’s not a problem at all. Either you can use another cable or we will see if I can modify the Plipbox case for you to fit with the metallic audio connectors.

Thanks for your PM salocinx.
Payment sent! Decided to choose shipment with tracking information.
Plipbox Dx for Amiga 1200, color black, A565 looks nice - like good old days numbering schema!
Thank you for this great piece of equipment!

Interrested in 1 black unit. Thanks!

I haven't tested my Plipbox on an A1200, but here are a couple data points on A500+:

The config is A500+ (rev 8.0A) with ACA500 and ACA1221 (68020). 2MB chip, 64MB fast.
Using MiamiDX and AMiFTP, I tested the download of a 19 MB file from a local server, with 2 speed settings:
- With the ACA1221 clock set to 17.xx mhz, I witnessed an average speed of 40-50 KB/s
- when set to 28.xx mhz, the speed increased to 70-90 KB/s

Uploads seem to be significantly slower (about 16 KB/s), but I haven't tested this much.
So the cpu speed has clearly an impact on the performances. However, on a vanilla A1200 (68EC020@14mhz), would the results be equivalent to my 17.xx mhz ACA1221 ?
I'm wondering this because, what my tests don't account for, is that the AGA chipset of the A1200 is faster that my A500+'s ECS (32bits-14mhz Vs 16bits-7,xx mhz). And since the CIA chip responsible for piloting the parallel port is handled by the chipset, maybe an AGA powered Amiga would be faster on parallel operations than an ECS one, regardless of the cpu.

So I assume your question is not answered by my ranting, and this comment is pointless ;-)

Hi - thanks for your interest. I sent you a PM with some details. Regards.

What is the max speed on normal A1200?

Should be around 50 kB/s with a stock A1200. I can make some tests next week if you need more detailed benchmarks. Let me know ...

Declaring interest. Please send me a PM with shipping costs to Switzerland or Italy. How much RAM do you need to run this interface? Thanks.
