Haha Yeah, it works fine was quite dirty when I got it so it needed a clean.

I'm giving to my friend today because he needs it and I already have a copy.

Yeah it's the one in Chesterfield, ever know and then it has great ps2 games hiding within a bunch of common games.

@KieranD212: use a rubber band to force the SIMM into place. Or arrange someone to replace the socket for you (better in the long term).

BTW: this accelerator can have a SIMM of up to 128Mb!!!

Now me: I was gifted a couple of ancient pcs: an IBM Aptiva with a Pentium100 (originally with 16Mb RAM), now with 48Mb. Original keyboard and soon with original mouse.

Also a brazilian "griffe" old pc: a Monydata 486SX50 which I promptly upgrade to its maximum 8Mb of RAM with 8x 1Mb 30pin SIMMs. It have a sound card with built-in SCSI controller!

Both computers have LAN cards so they can use the internets!

And to use those puppies an old-school 17" CRT monitor, which I grabbed for the same price as above: £0 = US$0 = R$0! :)

And this arrived or me today!

Sent from my HTC One X.

Looks like pie

Indeed it is. My first slice if Pi ever, so am quite excited to see how it all works tonight.
My other project of streaming my windows desktop to the PS3 in another room is making progress albeit slowly as well.

:D

One thing that will help with your Pi is to set the xbmc theme to Quartz. it's the nicest looking imo but has the bonus of also running the quickest out of all the themes.

Thanks - I shall keep that in mind and would be grateful for any further hints!

If your tv has a usb port, power your pi through that, it'll switch on and off with your tv  (Just be careful the pi isn't updating the xbmc install when you switch it off  )

Will the TV port have a strong enough output? I thought it was quite important to get a power supply with sufficient oomph as otherwise it could cause problems?
I also thought I read somewhere that when not in use the Pi has a very low power draw and so can generally just be left on? (although as I wont be using it daily I probably wont).

Most TV's should be fine, my samsun and sony TV's provide enough power anyway. But yeah, power consumption is pathetic for these devices anyways. one of mine is left plugged in the tv, the other into the mains.

Just picked up this beauty, a brand new unused (and boxed!) Amstrad Mega PC controller. A nice addition to my collection of new controllers :)
