Here's my new baby:

p3d5kdU.jpg

This is my first Amiga, bought last month. Allegedly it was broken, but I've added in that floppy drive and it's been running great. I just need some more software and a hdd now.

snip

I also just picked up an AlphaServer from a local recycler who stated it did not boot. Luckily I know that both a keyboard and mouse need to be attached in order to boot. I always wanted an alpha machine to play with and while Win 2000 RC2 for Alpha is a buggy pile of junk it at least installs and runs without the licence paks needed for OpenVMS.

Alpha server from a recylcler? You probably got a real bargain there.

We still use these at work. Without giving too much away we make some rather large and expensive equipment consisting of multiple computers, and on the older versions this was all co-ordinated on open VMS alpha servers. We're finally moving it all over to windows pcs but most of our pre-existing products (up to as late as 2014 or so) are still running on alphas. It's part of my job to maintain a portion of the alpha software, which is all in HP Fortran. As for using it, I actually kind of like VMS. Having it automatically keep all versions of a file for me is handy indeed.

I say you probably got a bargain because I'm told they cause us a lot of problems now because they are getting hard to find and expensive. We stockpiled when HP discontinued, but have pretty much exhausted that supply now and I'm pretty sure the guys who do the installation have to hunt ebay for refurbished ones when one dies in the hands of a customer.

I wasn't aware you had to have a keyboard and mouse plugged in. Ours just sit in racks and seem to lack both.

Nice A2000. I just got mine finally up and running properly.

I had heard about not being able to post without a keyboard years ago, so I took a chance and once I plugged one in the machine happily posted and now I have Tru64 installed and it works just fine. I too am of the mind it was a great deal.

If your company has many of these, do you think they'd be willing to sell me the bezel for the DAT drive? :D

It's taken awhile, however I finally have a clean and functional SGI workstation. This machine started as a dirt filled metal box with no case or drives. All I have left to do is install the OS.

Went to pick up an Apple Duo Drive from a local seller and ended up taking a few more things off his hands.

P1230138.jpg P1230137.jpg

I also ended up buying an Atari 400 from him. It turns out he's a collector who's selling off what he has. I wish I'd had some extra money because he has a very nice and very upgraded A2000.

Thrift/Dollar store time again, plus RuneRider was going out to get a few more things from the guy he got stuff from the other day, so I tagged along and picked up a few bits...

I'm a bit jealous of the Icontroller. I've been wanting one of those for a while. :)

I'm sure you have more stuff than me and I feel like I need a bigger house. Can't imagine an apartment!

There aren't a lot of controllers/joysticks on my list to add to my collection, but this was one of them...

I also want to track down 2x (or more for that matter) Atari gamepads (the NES style ones that Atari put out late in the A2600 era), 2x proper 7800 sticks (my 7800 didn't come with any) and a 1351 mouse...

I need a bigger place, but being single I can't qualify for a subsidized 2-bed and can't afford one on my own...I will have to get into my storeroom this summer and see what I can just get rid of...

I've got this cd32 with an arcade jamma mod. It is a modification back from 1995 from a Italian company called C.D Exrpess. As you can see it is a cd32 with a jamma pcb. So it plays the games that C.D. Express made using the cd32 hardware. I have a game for this and it is a puzzle, not many games made for this. Pretty hard to find one of these, although machine works flawlessly.

Toys, Toys, Toys...more of those Dollar store toys...ever since they went to a $4 maximum price at our large dollar store chain, they've gotten a lot more good 'licensed' toys, which I have benefited from greatly :) (or perhaps have been cursed by...)

not had amiga out for many years but did like the game boulderdash, found the emulator on the pc and to my surprise was able to locate a usb compatible classic joystick from retrolink so can play again

Games day, those GST/Carbon Tax rebates every 3 months come in handy :)

Choose Your Own Adventure: House of Danger Game (Z-man, 2018 )

4x 'dollar store' plastic cases which are near perfect for 2 card decks and a load of dice...

Found this at the tip while dropping off some dell rubbish. Fully working, good LOPT, no gauss problems, no sound problems, even still has the front flap of all things.
1084score.jpg

Probably be hit by an asteroid tomorrow then...

Also in the background, Atari MegaSTE with a Microvitec 1402 multisync, ex NATO!

well, it must be about time for another thrift shop/dollar store post...another reasonably good 'Star Wars' haul, from both the ThShops and Dollar stores... (seems like there's a glut of SW toys about 6mo to a year after every movie...been quite a bit of Rogue One and Last Jedi stuff recently, should be a bunch of Solo stuff in a few months...)
