Well, inspired by LGR Thrifting vids I got up and went to two Re-use shops at re-cycling centers. Not exactly local, but about a 35 mile round trip between the two of them. I picked up a few games which I thought were interesting and fancied playing. and a small cabinet I can fit nicely under my desk and put a few consoles on and keep games in the drawer. I usually do charity shops at weekend but it's so hit and miss I just can't be bothered to go lately. Pleased with the cabinet tho.

I really want an NES. Are you going to get it RGB modded? Everdrive?

Laptop shape famiclone. Chunked "screen" with built-in tetris, hinges were broken anyway. Case was pretty tidy, but still had to do some repairs on plastic(ho-ho-hot glue!).

Hey 80sFREAK good to see you moved safely, hope things are going well!

Thrift Shop / Comic Book Shop Day(s)

Thrift Shop / Comic Book Shop Day(s)

well, took another trip out to the thrift shops and to the local comic shop the other day, finding less and less it seems (starting to think I might be better off to wait until the middle of the month or closer to the end, but before most 'poor' people like myself (retired/disability/unemployed/etc) who use the thrift shops actually get paid)

did find a couple of things (including one of the AD&D manuals I saw last month, which had been re-priced (no doubt all/most of them had, and then actually sold) to about 1/3 the original asking price. (dear thrift stores...you get your stock for FREE, unlike regular second-hand shops...let's be reasonable please :p)

In the case of the comics, there were all pulled out of the comic shops '50 cent bins' and are of varying condition, but most are in very good shape, and didn't really expect to see many of them in a bargain bin. (though some I just remembered from when i was younger and was collecting more)

Books/Games
AD&D Monster Manual 1e (HC) (TSR, 1979, fourth printing)
Dungeons & Dragons Starter Set (WotC, 2014) (second copy I've found in a few months, this one has it's dice set, still sealed in thier plastic bag)

Picked this up for <snip> , sold as seen. Took a new 72pin connector, lots and cleaning and tinkering with screw tensions to get it working. But I got there in the end. Actually my first NES.

Wow. You obviously haven't tested it yet, otherwise we would have noticed the lights flickering across Europe and heard all those fans running up! :D
