Just driven 550 miles round trip from Manchester to devon and back to pick this lot up, the guy was giving it all away for free so I couldn't resist:
2x boxed a1200's
1x box of mauals books and things
1x box of games
a boxed GVP jaws 2 030 accelerator

Oh my word...

How did you find that and looks white ???

No devpac 3 in the box is there ? :)

Nice find.

One is yellow and the other is absolutly pristine white
All seals in tact and serials match the boxes

How did i find it? Through a disagreement on the SWAG facebook group

Comics

The Road Runner: The Lost Road Runner Mine "Little Big Book" (Whitman, 1974)

stack (39) of random comics from the 50cent bin at my local comic shop, my brother has had 2 sons over the last 2y2m, and I have been putting away a few comics (well, a lot ) each time I go, as well as the occasional few from the thrift shops as well (though those tend to either be destroyed, or overpriced (and quit putting price stickers on comics you *think* are worth money...it *might* have been before you put a sticker on it's cover...))...to give to them when they are maybe 5 or 6 or so... my plan was to have a 200ct box for them each by that time...and I am close to that already after about 1 year... and since they are from the 50cent bins/thrift shops I am not really worried if they destroy them, as I pretty much did as a kid ;)

First new toy of 2017

First new toy of 2017

I just finished tearing down and cleaning/repairing a Compaq SLT/286 I picked recently. It was quite a dirty mess and one of the back-light tubes in the screen had shattered during shipping which caused a lot of tiny glass bits to have to be cleaned out. It's a nice machine and oddly the battery still holds a charge that lasts a little while. It came with the documentation, PSU and carrying case. Now to write the system image to disk so I can configure the HDD.

ZX Spectrum 48K Voltage Regulator Replacement & Composite Mod

ZX Spectrum 48k, which has just had a composite mod and the voltage regulator replaced, now runs nice and cool with a reasonable picture, smashing!

Replaced the 7805 with a Traco Power TSR 1-2450. This is a switch mode direct replacement, 90% efficient compared to the 7805 linear regulator which on a good day is probably only around 45% efficient, with the excess being converted to heat :o, the large metal heat-sink is now redundant. Gutted the RF modulator, added a 100uf 10v cap. Noticed a leaking cap, so replaced that while the soldering iron was out.. job done :D

I just received my Kaypro II today. It's in even better condition than I'd hoped and came with loads of disks and manuals. I even have the unused registration cards for the software and CP/M operating system.

I also received 100 old single-sided Macintosh floppies I'd bought which have a lot of software on them for my old Mac.

Hi wmsteele,
the capacitor is connected the wrong way around! The negative of the capacitor should be going to the socket, not the positive!
While you're at it, the capacitor should also be a slightly higher value, you'll get the best results at around 220µf. You should also put a 75ohm resistor in series with the capacitor (between capacitor and socket) to terminate the connection properly.

Bryce.

My First Estate Sale Haul

My First Estate Sale Haul

After being told by a fellow collector that he was at an estate sale and picked up three Macintosh machines complete, I decided to go myself.

I picked up a few things....

P1190122.jpg P1190123.jpg P1190124.jpg P1190125.jpg P1190126.jpg P1190127.jpg P1190128.jpg P1190129.jpg P1190131.jpg

P1190132.jpg

And more...

And more...

P1190133.jpg P1190135.jpg P1190136.jpg P1190137.jpg P1190138.jpg

It's all untested so far and there's even more TI/99 stuff. The line scanner and the new in box 8" floppy drive are the most interesting.

Lots of work ahead to sort all this . :)

Went to Computer Surplus in Redmond and found this thing for the best price in the world, just needs the DB-9 female right angle connector in back repaired, something I"m working on myself ATM. It's a NEC MultiSync II 14" CRT, and it came complete with what I assume is the original cable, and the 9-pin to 15-pin multisync converter. Tried it on the 486, does have some color/sync problems because if I wiggle the connector and hold it in just the right spot it works, but if I let go it either loses image or turns green. I've traced it to the connector. I also see a little brown around it, but I'll fix that.

All Cleaned Up (FRONT).jpg

Also got all this stuff from a haul from the two RE-PC Stores in my area, stocking up on ISA as much as I can because that stuff is getting hard to find. Was hoping to find a nice baby AT lay-flat desktop or at least a tower of that type in my travels, but oh well. Did find a backup AT PSU for my full AT chassis though.

GOT THE FOLLOWING
