Wow! That is amazing. We all get those lucky finds once in a while. Too bad they don't happen more often. :)

Thanks! This my second great find in 25 years. I hope I'm due for another one soon. Seeing the guys on YouTube in the states finding stuff like this in thrift stores and at garage/estate sales almost makes me want to move. :)

got paid yesterday and was bored (having been awake since 3:30AM), so I decided to head down to the Thrift/Dollar stores wayyy down south that I don't get to that often...

Nintendo DS NTR-001 Silver w/power adaptor (this is precisely the version I have always been meaning to get, since it is the one that also uses the GBA carts)

Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game: Siege of Gondor (GW, 2003)

LPs/CD

Harlequin - Love Crimes (CBS, 1980)
Rough Trade - Avoid Freud (High Romance, 1980)
Culture Club - Colour By Numbers (Virgin, 1983)
Ghostbusters OST (Arista, 1984)
ABBA - Arrival (Polar Music, 1976)
ABBA - The Album (Polar Music, 1977)
Bill Cosby - The Best of (Warner, unk)

Great Big Sea - Play (Great Big Sea, 1997)

I think this might be the first time I've hit ALL the thrift shops I normally go to and not gotten at least one Adventure Gamebook/CYOA.... well, I suppose the NDS makes up for it :p

I missed all the pre-orders and I wasn't going to wait up until midnight last night to buy one so I'll get mine when it's more readily available. Of course, the scalpers are out in force to take advantage of Nintendo's notoriously poor system launch practices.

At least I received my copy of Zelda for the Wii U so I'll be able to play that this weekend!

Heather

Jeez. had a quick look and yes they are, scalpers are out lol.

my lad is playing his now, its very nice, looks a lot smaller when docked than i thought.

I cancelled my switch as funds was short (my 7yr old boys birthday) ill be waiting for Zelda for my Wii-U so i'm still happy :D

- - - Updated - - -

and just watched one for the curiosity and it sold for the current selling price from the shops.

now that's justice :D -10% ebay fees + the Fees paypal take,, that scalper lost out...

ill be betting that seller will cancel the sale with a lame excuse like it was broken or lost hehe.

- - - Updated - - -

hehe I'm laughing to myself I've watch 5 different auctions finish and all where within £10 of shop price some a bit cheaper so it's 1 - 0 for the buyers atm :D

My lovely wife bought a A3000 for my collection. I'll fix the battery leakage when the item arrives.

Picked up a Rondo SX-series 5-string Fender Jazz Bass clone off Craigslist. This thing is insanely good for a $200 (list price!) Fender knockoff - great build quality, beautiful finish (for some reason, on their site they only show the ash-body version as available in clearcoat, but this one is a lovely dark sunburst,) and it plays and sounds great. Now one of these days I need to sit down and wire it up for stereo so I can get my Chris Squire on (or at least my Gary Strater...)

I went out and picked up a 1997 Epiphone Les Paul:
00I0I_lTmUBuzVXmT_600x450.jpg

Sure, it's not a hand-built work of art like the Gibson version, but it's a damn fine instrument - sounds great and is just playable as hell - I could barely tear myself away from it to get ready for bed :) Getting it for a fraction of the list price with some upgrades by the previous owners didn't hurt either :D

Thecorfiot kindly sent me some goodies. Pr0n!

repaired C64c board, I shorted the motherboard 5v when jamming my tapuino into the case (another story) and bas fixed it perfectly and tidied up the psudosid (knackered socket, even a broken pin!) and added pins to the tape edge connector. Nice one! OH and he recapped the board at the same time, what a star :)

and a justspeccy128 board! this has been quite the undertaking, i bought the boards a year ago and bas has spent a LOT of hours putting it together. His skill level necessary for this is far in excess of mine. His work is an art and underneath the soldering is barely believable. in an "awesome" way. I'll post some pics as i carve up a 48k rubber case to suit and paint.

I have one of the C64 CP/M carts complete in box. I really need to try it some time. I have heard it's not great but it should still be fun to play with. :)

Nice!
My CP/M cart didn't come with anything, so I had to transfer a .d64 CP/M boot disk to a real floppy before I could play with it.

I don't like Commodore that much (but the 264 row is great), and the C16 is really nothing special ... but i received a nearly untouched and unused one (with a 1531, some games, manuals and cables). I can't find any wear marks or something else. I bought it as "faulty", but it runs fine.
