Heather, there are a few seller in EvilBay selling those Acard bridges for USD35 or less. Posting from Europe will be expensive for you.

Thanks rkauer! I'll check out evilbay in the USA to see if there might be something there. :)

Take care,

Heather

@quarkx

Too bad about the heat sinks being too small. Let me know what you come up with. :)

.

Happy New Year!

Heather

Actually Heather, they (the square ones) are almost the perfect width for the Chips, but most of the "longer" chips (like the Video) take about 4 to cover them. I would recommend that if one does take this route with the 128, order about 5 cards of them. They look fantastic and very tidy when mounted. I just have to wait until more come in. The Adhesive Tape holds them in place great, but the long ones kind of look bad when you offset them to try to cover a whole chip.

Just picked up an Individual Computers Competition Pro joystick from the other bay. This auction has a Buy It Now or Best Offer. I offered $2.99 less and they accepted. :)

That is a damn shame buddy. Was it sent by courier or Post Office?

It's better to know, just for reference in the future for others.

I just finished installing my Dual CompactFlash IDE Adapter (Model HXSP-2108P" in my Amiga 4000. I found an Addonics 3.5" drive bay mount to mount my CF adapter. Unfortunately, the posts built into the Addonics did not line up with my CF adapter. I simply drilled some holes and used screws and posts of my own to line it up.

The top CF slot lined up perfectly with the hole that was already cut but I had to use a Dremel to extend the slot down so I could use the second CF card slot. I may go back and clean up the edges with a file and add a touch of paint to where I used the Dremel, but probably not. :D

I really liked this solution because I didn't have to give up my 5.25" drive bay or mount the CF adapter in the back of the system where it's more difficult to reach. Now swapping out my HD is as easy as swapping cards. :)

Sorry peeps

@ Zetro: Where'd you find that SCSI to IDE adaptor?
I could do with a couple of those!

you beauty, go on get in there!! :)

/JuvUK looks at SDG then looks at his sig then looks at SDG

Thanks Juzzers. :) That's one more A4000 project to cross off my list. I still have to do my ATX mod and fix the capacitors on my A3640. A geek girl's work is never done.

Say hello to Bert for me.

That's a neat solution. I'm interested in too. Great job.

Thanks Bootay & Phantom!

I ran into a couple issues when doing the mod. The height of the Dual CF Card IDE Adapter caused the most problems. There's a nub on the top of the floppy power connector that I had to cut off in order for it to fit properly. I didn't cut the Amiga power cable, I used a power extension. In addition, I had to cut off the plastic stress reliever on the top of the IDE connector to keep it from hitting the bottom of the floppy drive.

Good luck with your mod!

Heather

It would be wise to post some pics also of the insider (how it's connected and how it's fitted in there).

It was sent by courier from Hungary. It has without doubt be kicked around along its journey. I just dont want to talk about it....

Anyway looking on the bright side, at least I have seen a 1551 in real life now :-)
