Thanks tokyoracer! I probably won't do a tutorial of any kind as far as modding a case or making a label since it's really not too difficult. I made my label 300 pixels per inch. If you just use the dimensions from the label I made then print it out at that print ratio then it should fit perfectly on your cartridge. :)

I printed it on a Dell Color Laser printer. Our Dell printer seems to do much better color than any of our HP Color Lasers do. I used 3M Super 77 spray adhesive on the back of the paper to attach it to the cartridge.

It is a Toshiba BC-0802
Can't be too many kicking about. Belonged to a retired schoolteacher at my SCUBA club. he knows I am into retro and has been holding onto this for me!

At the car boot sale:

Guy: £xx.

I call that £xx well-spent! The A1200 is an AT 1200HD one with 3.1 ROMs and a 170MB disk, warranty seal is still intact, too!

Fantastic Haul there Andy!

I was rather chuffed to find a 'Little Professor' with Manual nestled amongst a pile of PS1 Games.

It still works. :)

@AndyLandy - We don't seem to have finds like that where I live. The cheapest I have seen an A1200 go for locally was 200 bucks. And to top it off, I have never seen one at a Garage sale (yard sale, car boot sale). The last thing I saw at a garage sale was a commodore 64c and the guy thought it was worth 600 bucks! Yeah right.
 
That's for the comments, guys. I was pretty chuffed too. I never expected them to be boxed with all the bits!

I decided to have a bit of a play with the A500 this morning, didn't have a lot of time before work, but had enough to take a quick peek.

I've not been able to get inside (Don't have a suitable Torx head screwdriver ... yet) but she powers up and looks to be working well. I was surprised to be greeted with a Kickstart 3.1 boot prompt! Someone's obviously been in there before me and installed a new ROM.

She's got a 1MB-capable "half-ECS" Agnus and an OCS Denise with 512k Chip and 512k "slow fast" -- although there's nothing in the trapdoor, so the additional RAM must be soldered to the board. Did any A500s come like that, or is it an aftermarket upgrade?
 
These aren't retro I know, but over the last week I have upgraded my PC with a 500Gb SATA-II drive (uber cheap at £36 from Aria) and a two week old 1Gb :wooha: ATI Radeon HD5450 PCI-E graphics card, for the princely sum of £30 from my younger son.

These have given my machine some much-needed oomph...:woot:

d0pefish, I would replace the joke-heatsink on the ppc , use a 35x35mm copper chipset heatsink and fix it permanently ... I have done this:

Nice :) Yes, I have some ideas about better cooling. Definately a good idea to go copper.

I have a friend who works at a machine shop sometimes, I'm trying to get him to make me some custom metal standoffs to mount the CSPPC securely, and I'll see what he can do about a heatsink... :D
 
you can also use teflon threaded spacers , like I did... no need to make metal ones :)

That EverDrive looks like a lot of fun, impressive that it works with the 32x. Curious as though why Virtua Racing is not supported, I am tempted to get one but would prefer a build at home (el-cheap-o) kit =)

I have an Uber Hot XC in my CSMk2 so will have to keep an eye out for the 71Ej4 060, I have one on my A1200 Apollo 060 - it barely gets warm at 50mhz

It's the disk version, unfortunately there's no original manual, only 1 (copied?) A4 sheet with instructions. The text on the box is entirely in French, which is odd, since there's still a price label on it from a Dutch Amiga shop.

The box is a little bent on the sides but otherwise it's in not too bad condition.
