Many people do to make them more manageable/portable by scrapping the furniture casework. I was shown some pics of one made into a flightcase type thing and it looked amazing to say the least. These wooden cased Hammonds don't do it justice even if it came out of the factory like that. Fine for granny's living room playing, no good for rock'n'roll.
Well, the neoclassical spinet legs are kinda silly, I'll grant you, and the bulk of the thing would be a problem for gigging, but nicely-finished wood is just the classy material for instruments, and I'll brook no dissent on that. I mean, look at the Minimoog!

Yeah, the Hammond deserves some daggers in between the keys, nothing else!
Man, someday I would love to be a fourth as talented as Keith...

Or crazy as him!

On a serious note, he is one of my rock idols!

Oh, absolutely. It was one crazy revelation when I nabbed a copy of Tarkus from the thrift store (my attention caught by the totally sweet cover) and heard ELP for the first time...

I saw ELP "glued" to the grid. Was 1997 or something around. One of the best shows I ever saw in my life, including U2 360, Waters The Wall and Ian Anderson's Thick As A Brick!

Found a dirty old Commodore Mouse at the thrift today! Its my first one, but did I get a 1351 or an Amiga mouse?

The bottom reads "A90702898"

Thanks Bryce and Badstarr for the BBC Master, and Collz69 for the PS1. They all arrived by courier at 8pm tonight (I guess he lives local as that's the second lot he's dropped off in the evening). I think that's the rest of my week taken care of playing with my new toys

Received a brand new (made in 2012) game for my Colecovision today. It's even made in Holland! :)

X-Surf arrived this morning, cant wait to get my A4000 connected!!

The USB ports are a first for me on the Amiga, just need to wait till Jens gets round to completing the USB add-on but they do look cool

Got a few C64 Assembly and machine language books plus a 68-pin SCSI cable from Exilent today.

I also went and bought an XBox 360 Slim 250GB bundled with Angry Birds.

Received yesterday very dirty but probably working AT PSU 200Watt for my 386SX/33 MHz... Now it's drying and maybe i'll check it today.

Don't have it yet, but I've pre-ordered the Zelda Wii-U Special Edition console. It arrives September 20 and comes with a download code for the Zelda WindWaker HD game. About the only thing I really wish was that it came with the actual disk instead of a download code.

I wanted to preorder that console, but can't really justify it as I already have a WiiU :'(

I have preordered the game with the gannondorf statue though

Yeah, I'm really happy I waited to pick one up. Between the price cut and the fact that I love Zelda games and a Zelda themed console, I decided it was the right time. Still, I would love to get the disc version of the game.

I'm currently playing through Skyward Sword for the first time! It's really fun going through a Zelda world that I haven't seen yet. For the most part, the motion controls work well, but I would still rather just press a button. I've also pre-ordered the new 3DS Zelda.

Heather

*EDIT* I also love that you can skydive in Skyward Sword! I even had to do a double take the first time I saw a skydiving formation go flying past me. :D

Yamaha DX7
I've had a module version of this synth (the TX7) for a while, because I love the sound of Yamaha FM - but I just never use it, because there's no on-board editing facilities, and setting up a MIDI connection from a master keyboard to a module is just so much less immediate and hands-on than sitting down with one of my keyboard synths. So I've been keeping an eye out, and one turned up on Craigslist for a pretty good price (I got the keyboard, a soft case, a stand, both factory ROM cartridges, and the switch and swell pedals for a good deal less than I've seen bare units go for elsewhere!) There's minor cosmetic damage and it was dustier'n hell, but it's otherwise in good shape, and it works and sounds great :) What a classic!

Would love a DX-7, they're not overly expensive either. Roland D-50 is another classic on the shopping list... again not too pricey and great synth :)

I'm just wondering how big johns house is :)
