Must get a bit cold in the winter? Not worried about condensation or getting too hot in the summer?

Would be worth you insulating the loft and boarding it. Vapour barrier backed plaster board is cheap and easy to install.

Yeh, the hot and cold extremes up there are pretty severe, and are a major concern of mine.

Sadly I have nowhere else to put everything as its quite a small house and the other half doesn't like my stuff everywhere!

I do cover it all up in the winter with blankets, and have a couple of fans and the skylight open in the summer, but sadly my window of actually being able to get up there and use everything is pretty small, maybe a few months of the year before it's too hot or too cold.

I would love to get it properly insulated, but the last quote was over 2k, which i just can't afford. :(

Is that 2k someone comes in or DIY
if it's cheaper have a insulation party..

Yoy can insulate it yourself for a couple hundred easily. As long as you are prepared to do it yourself. It's not hard.

Yeah, ironically I've been looking at it today, I reckon I can do it for about 4/500 notes.

It really depends how far you want to take it. You could use something like polystyrene sheeting to insulate the roof and board over. That would be the cheapest way.

And with plastering the walls/inside of roof you could drywall it to save money. Fairly easy to do. Just cut and screw the boards into place, tape joints and then use jointing compound and then electric sander.

I've recently moved into a new flat, and have been slowly setting up my games room. I've currently got most of my consoles set up here:

(PS2, PS4, Mega Drive, Xbox 360, Sega Saturn, PC-Engine, and Neo-Geo)

The SD consoles are all connected via RGB SCART into a Framemeister XRGB upscaler, which then connects by HDMI into the TV.

I still need to bring across my Dreamcast and GameCube, though the question does linger of where I'm going to put them...

Current games library:

And obligatory Amiga photo:

Really nice setups guys! Love looking at how other people have used their space :)

This is mine. The pictures were taken a year ago, but it has only changed a little bit as stuff has been added :)

It's actually looking kinda bare on these pictures

I have another room, where I've put my retro computers (PC, Amiga, C64) but it never gets used because it's on the 1. floor and feels so isolated  I hope some day to be able to put everything in one room.

I don't event have room for my pride and joy, so that is currently sat in the corner of the dining room :D

Looking at some of the setups I'm guessing single? ;-) lol.

Not me, but it IS an isolated room in the house

Wow! That's some CPC tape collection. So they all still work? And discs too? Have you got backups?

I've still got a soft spot for the CPC. The 464 was my first computer and I still have great memories. I don't own any Amstrad stuff anymore though, just emulate.

I think it's the only way, especially with kids. Every man needs a man cave for some solitary escapism and down time.
