I have seen the console and yes, it does cost arm and legs to buy one!
I am sure you do remember when 3DO console was £699 in 1994 I think and it was flopped!

State of Play is 24th September and I think there will be Showcase of PS 5 PRO Game such as
Ghost of Tsushima 2(that is Rumours) and some other games.

So going be interesting when come on the date :)

Edit: This is interesting Comparsion PS 5 and PS 5 PRO

Only things I can think of is Better Frames rates like 120 FPS

Edit: Interesting Different between RTX 5070 Vs PS 5 PRO

Edit: PS 5 pro are on Sales like Argos or Curry or Smtyh for limited of time

Edit:

PS5 Pro PSSR 2.0 Update Expected by End of March 2026

Sony is expected to release PSSR 2.0 (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution 2.0) for the PS5 Pro by the end of March 2026. This major system-level update is described as a "huge" overhaul rather than a minor patch, significantly improving image quality, performance, and frame rates. The technology is reportedly based on advancements similar to AMD’s FSR 4, leveraging machine learning to upscale lower-resolution images while reducing GPU load and memory usage.

PSSR 2.0 aims to resolve many of the issues seen in the original PSSR implementation, such as shimmering and ghosting, and may introduce frame generation technology, enabling more games to achieve 4K at 120fps. Even older PS4 and PS5 titles are expected to benefit from improved upscaling without requiring developer patches.

No optical drive built-in? Have to pay extra for the option? Another step away from not owning the physical games? I don't know how.

You guys know I can get a bit ranty about where big tech is pushing us, and I don't like it.

I'm voting with my wallet on this one, no-sale for me.

I have agree with you that even thought there is CD drive add on for PS 5 pro but it is very costly to buy one and it doesn't come with Stand for PS 5 Pro!

So No sales for me as well :)

The 3DO was an anomaly in that the hardware manufacturers had to make a profit on each console sold. They weren't getting a cut of the software sales.
Sony do get that cut. But they also want to make money on hardware sales.
Cake and eat come to mind.
For the cost of a PS5 Pro, you could get a very good, mid-range, gaming PC.

You can still buy the non-Pro version, also now is being discounted slightly everywhere. The Pro is a niche product, people are raging about nothing...

Is state of play 24th September showcase of PS 5 Pro game going blow you away?

Have wait and see :)

Is there a point where the resolution and frame rate are sufficient? Do we really need games at 4K 120fps?

And does it matter in this era of DGDB games...just to keep you playing...just to keep you in front of the screen?

I ask you...how did we ever survive with video games that didn't just get easier when we couldn't get past a point?

That's it...I'm changing my name to RantFromASoapbox. :)

By the way...is Amiga NTSC on a CRT 60 fps?

I'm waiting for PS Pro 8 :ROFLMAO:

The PS6 has been leaked too so is there any point getting the PS5 Pro 😆
Yes that correct as they had been in Development in 2022 and had be ready for late 2027 because of Call of duty deal as if get 2028 then they wont have Call of duty game as belong to Shitbox(sorry, it's joke as name of Xbox!)

PS 7 Graphics would be too real and it deffo have 32GB Ram for Games..........

PS Pro 8? Whoa, You could be playing 8K TV

I've had 2 PS5's since launch and always ended up flogging them because of a lack of games. Can't see anything for the Pro that makes it worth the money,

I know the ps5 pro is expensive but it isn’t really.

As time goes on tech usually get less expensive due to improved production

Amiga 500 in 1987 £499 in today’s money £1400

Nintendo 64 ( No Game ) in 1997 £250 today £480

Playstation 2 in 2000 £299 today £550

I won’t be getting one 2 reasons

1 i don’t have the money lol

2 i don’t see the improvements benefiting me. I can’t justify the costs so i can see i little more detail and possibly slightly smoother frame rates.

I got a ps4 pro because games line death stranding went upto 4k and still smooth gameplay.

there might be Killzone Shadowfall Remaster (I will look forward to that) as not sure about Death standing 2(oringal game did send me sleep due too much walking and picking stupid lunch boxed here and there!)

Ghost of Yotei announced(I like this one too)
Horizon Zero Dawn remaster coming 31st October
Monster Hunter Wilds releases 28th February
Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver remaster coming 10th Decemeber
Alan Wake 2 The Lake House shown and dated for October
Lunar Remastered Collection coming to PS5
Palworld out today on PS5
AstroBot free add-on coming this autumn
Dino Crisis is coming PS PLUS Classic(I am looking forward to that :) )
Some new PSVR 2 game as well
40 Games of improvement(like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth; Horizon Forbidden West; Gran Turismo 7; Hogwarts Legacy. Dragon's Dogma 2. Jedi Survivor. Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Snake Eater. Resi Village. Stellar Blade. Demon's Souls. F1 24. THe Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 as seem think going improve of high Resolutions and frame rates) for PS 5 PRO

IT been total pant so far..............but still little improvement I guess

Oh well, all the big games coming next year I guess.

i'm a sucker for Horizon games, i'll be upgrading to the remaster just an excuse to play it again.

disappointed days gone wasn't mentioned, what they will do for the re-master is confusing as it looks and plays great as it is now on either pc or ps5

I won't be getting one because console games are dumbed down for the simple control schemes and too easy. Some will disagree of course.

I don't own a PS5 yet.... I do afford to get a Pro but not sure if it is worth paying twice the price over the standard console, even though I would imagine the upgrades are nice. Thoughts?

I think People would buy PS 5 PRO then flog on ebay as it sell for £<snip> plus and only stupid people will pay it.

Will be sell out on pre order tomorrow? I seem think so then I dread think how much PS 6 will cost in say 3 or 4 years time.

Would be nice see if there DINO CRISIS Remake, Driveclub 2(not going happen due company close few years ago) and some oringal games to come along :)

Nice to see Ghost 2 coming along with some new PSVR 2 game and also Far cry 7 is on way
