Went on holiday last week and visited a charity shop. They had a shed load of ps2 promo disks. All in jewel cases and all with promo not for resale on the disks, mostly silvers. Are these rare ???
They sent these out en-masse to just about every press outlet imaginable, including places that didn't cover or review video games at all, just as they did with the PlayStation before it. Definitely not rare, to the best of my knowledge.
They were also sent to gaming stores for the display consoles to promote upcoming games.
Do remember though that they are "not for resale" so legally they should not be sold to you, and could in future be an issue for you if you wanted to resell them. This doesn't however mean you can't give them away.
