Selling my PS3 60gb which has been upgraded with a 120gb drive.

This is the backward compatible one which plays PS1 and PS2 games as well and has the memory card readers built in.

I recently cleaned the insides and replaced the thermal paste, and the Blu-ray drive reads perfectly.

Comes with original box, dual shock controller, stand and remote control....just add HDMI lead and your good to go.

£80 + P&P, payment by bank transfer.

Thanks.

I'm asking because i have a nice ps3 unused for over a year now because of the bluray drive.

When i opened up the machine i've found an aca-410 deck drive. dual lens.

And i dont know how i can fix this.

i'm not console fan.

you can change out the laser on these models and the one you have,if you have the patience.

its a common fault with the lasers on the drives to fail, well the blueray anyway i havent had a a normal red one go yet.

you can get the laser seperate from the drive itself for about 40-50 pounds qouting your drive as reference, installation is just a case of opening up the drive and removing the laser and installing the replacement and re-assembling it and the ps3 of course the hole thing takes about half an hour to do.
and yes the drive can stop reading bluerays and still read dvd and cd's
also to be on the safe side if its not reading the disks,blueray/dvd or cd try a cd cleaning disk it may be that the laser lens is dirty, and that will stop it from being read.

thats of course if its the laser thats faulty,it could be the board on the drive which a different kettle of fish.

have you opened a thread to ask if someone will fix it for you?

sorry to the op for posting here.

It's the laser head. No doubt about it. Recently bought a replacement from Hong Kong quite cheaply, worked perfectly. Burned out an IC on the mobo the day after, but that was hardly the new heads fault. Can link you up if you like seaside.

Sorry for keeping ot.

i received the ps3 and it was all packaged well went to play some god of war and just my luck it has YLOD, fkn typical first the car fails its mot and now the ps3 dies :double

Sounds suspiciously like a ylod machine that's been "reflowed" (and I use that term loosely) with a heat gun.

Not saying it is, but that it's been opened and then fails so quick...
