Question about Philips MSX2 8235

Hi folks,
never used MSX before, got one Philips 8235, and need some help atm:
mine had defective floppy drive, considered not to repair (the drive was 360kb one sided only) modded and installed SONY 920-E, also swapped original rom to a self made one, (took a disk rom part and replaced it in my original ROM, i think it is the 1.08 version, however, rom version 1.0 is shown at boot) it kinda works if the left window is closed - 1.44Mb HD disks are not recognised). The question is:
what disk version is the best/fastest and does support 1.44Mb HD disks? Where can i download it? (it is curious, that i can't find any link/information about it on the net.. will be thankfull for any information..

The 1.44MB HD format don't supported from any MSX ROM. If your ROM can read 720KB disks or 1.44MB disks (with closed hole) as 720KB disks, you are OK.
You can do nothing more. You have already the best you can have.

If you fix the HD hole detector you don't need to use tape on the holes as long as you use them in the MSX only.

Thank You very much for the explanation, i must be misunderstood, as someone told me there was a ROM that supports 1.44Mb HD Format. Now i know there isn't.
i will modify HD detector in that case, as it is useless on the 8235/45..
