quick question about SCSI to Micro SD Interface Adapter

Yes. it's what I use in my CDTV with the SCSI2SD card.

thank you.
do I need modify the original kikstarts?
I guess I need 50pin cable as well - do you know if I can find all I need on Amibay?
Thanks for helping

ok, thank you and I have last question. Can you take power from inside CDTV, or need extra PSU?

I have been using one on a CDTV with the original 1.3 Kickstart & 1.0 Extended ROMS.

It auto boots OK and works with the power from the 50 pin SCSI cable. I used Winuae to partition the SD card using PFS3 AIO.

thank you guys. fatbob_gb , great news, I will try to work around this.

Just got one of those
SCSI to Micro SD Interface Adapter

I was thinking to buy this adapter as well for my expanded CDTV system and get rid of that old SCSI hard disk drive. Although I dare to ask to anyone installed this, if he saw a difference in transfer read/write speeds, or it's just a plain adapter, which in this case doesn't justify its price at all! Additionally, what's the best choice to enter for max transfer while partioning the SD Card as a drive using HDToolBox and SFS as the file system?

I used to have such an adapter installed in my GVP HD+ on my A500.
Yes, the price is - somehow - high, but to my knowledge is the only product of it's kind.

For me, it is the only way to go to get rid of the old scsi drives and there are a lot of advantages to do so. Less noise and heat and of course price and availability of the micro sd cards are so simply a big "plus".
The speed is not bad at all, it depends on your scsi controller and it can go up to 2.5 Mb/sec (not much of importance to my opinion when using on a A500 or CDTV) and it can simulate multiple scsi devices, which could be useful in some cases.

MaxTransfer setting is a matter to be concerned of only when you setup an IDE disk. In any case, you should consider get used to use PFS3AIO filesystem on all your disks (either on IDE or SCSI connection), which is the best filesystem now available for classic amigas. It not only takes care of the MaxTransfer setting but it has a lot of other big advantages too.

Actually as far as I know, MaxTransfer setting plays a serious role even on CF cards (0x1FE00), if you want them to react correctly without problems. On the other hand, I'm using SFS since years, so what are the big advantages of the PFS3AIO over the trusty SFS?

The problem has to do with the use of IDE devices.
It has to do with problems in the ATA behavior of the scsi.device. Toni Willen has provided detailed info about the problem in some places. eg here.
Follow this link for a good starting point about info related to sd and cf cards.
In the same link you can find info why PFS3AIO is the best choise right now...

Okay, I see. Thanks for the links, they surely be a very helpful resource.
