Chin up old chap, if it makes you feel any better, I've got a ten+ week wait!

Ordered on 26th May (although confirmed for 28th!!) delivery expected for 13th August.

I only just reg interest so god knows when i am going to get one :lol:

This whole thing reminds me of the Sinclair order policy (or lack of) :lol:

But isn't it great that there's some excitement around it? :D

I would dearly love the OS to be a little more customised than just being a linux distro, but that can come in the future.

As a platform, it's shockingly good. I'm really impressed as to what it can do right away!

If the AROS people deliver as i read somewhere, i'm sure we'll all feel a whole lot better! :thumbsup:

@TheCorfiot: :thumbsup::arms

And for me: :tumbleweed: NOTHING!!!:(

Anyone know what the root password is :Doh:
Thx

Morning all! First real chance I've had to play with Pi this morning.

Me too :)

First of all, I really need to get myself a HDMI telly. Composite vid is just not doing it for me. Firstly, on my telly at home it's only in monochrome, and here in my workshop on my 1084S it is also monochrome. It is in colour on an old portable TV I have, but wayy too blurry to be of any use.

Same situation here - though I have got it in colour now - it defaults to NTSC over composite, and you probably need to change it to PAL.

You need to create/edit a config file:

From the prompt type

"sudo nano /boot/config.txt"

and add the line

sdtv_mode=2

Then ctrl X to exit and save, then reboot.

6 weeks is a lot less than the wait at farnell... where you order from? :unsure:

Those who are getting them like 2 weeks after ordering... Where you getting them from? If I can order from somewhere else and get one sooner, I'll have a happy Summer indeed...

I ordered mine the other day from Farnell, and received a confirmation pdf today by email.

Apparently I only ordered 1! and it's not coming til mid-August. That's far too long to wait to give to my bro for his birthday at the end of this month, so I'll be getting him something else (not to mention there's only one coming now so I want it :D).

In the meantime, I think I need to try to sell a couple of 8bit machines so that my missus doesn't leave me. After the recent CD32 purchase (it's so lovely), I'll be dead meat if she gets wind of this.

Hey its tiny, just tell her its just a mutiport hub and all will be forgiven :D

indeed we may get that computer for the masses yet

Well, mine shipped today, which is earlier than the June 18th estimate they gave me...it's going to my old address, but what the hey, I can get it from the landlords. :D

i put my order in years ago it seems, still no pi!!

The last email I got from Farnell was on 27th April

Well, I took a look in the freezer and found that I have something far better ..... I have an Apple Pi :lol:

All joking aside, I still havn't even been able to place an order yet :(

Got mine today, in fact, I'm posting from it! I noticed shortly after the last time I posted in this thread that they had bumped up my ship date from mid July to June 5th.
Pretty neat little device, but something about the reply page really pegs the CPU meter. I think it's all the animated smilies to the right of the message box.

Should be fun to play with.
